6-3 Weather Thread-Long track tornadoes?

It's not even that bad here in SE Iowa yet. Although my neighbor is out bailing hay still at this very minute. We've had several lighting strikes around and even a brief power flicker but he's still going.
Gotta get it baled before the rain.

He's looking out for us, too. Order your pizzas and Chinese food. Buy cases of Pepsi...buy cases of Coke.

I think they cloned Ed Wilson. This is his younger self, right down to the teeth.

i thought in the 12 hour lapse on KCCI they showed that these would continue to build and some of the worst storms looked to be coming from the NE into the Boone/Ames/Des Moines area more like 3 or 4 am. Has that changed?

Getting some good rain in DSM, but the track of strong storms is continuing to drift to the south of us. No tornados or high winds tonight, boys.

The worst storms will be on the south side of the complex which is shifting southeast as they have access to more instability being fed in from the south.

I think the severe threat is done for Central Iowa.

Which, of course, is why KCCI and WHO have taken down their weather alert ticker in favor of election coverage. Seriously, why the **** would you remove that information when the weather is A. This bad and B. Not going to pass for several more hours?

Because KCCI and WHO only care about the Metro area.

Someone on my Facebook feed shared a picture from the Woodhouse dealerships in Nebraska of a car with its back windshield shattered. The caption alluded that they incurred 152 million dollars in hail damage on their inventory.

Its probably that they have 152 Million in total inventory. You would have to total out more than 5,000 vehicles to get that amount of damage which a) would be highly unlikely with a hail storm and b) would be impossible to assess in just a few hours.

You're correct. I've seen the post floating around and it said they have 4,500 vehicles on the lot totaling $152 million in total inventory. Regardless, this is going to be a HUGE insurance claim for them.

So what kind of cars do they sell that average almost 34k a vehicle?

All their cars and trucks sit outdoors. It will be thousands of vehicles.

Okay, reread the posting. 4500 vehicles damaged at their Blair and Mo Valley dealerships, and the inventory's worth 152 million.

Sorry for the confusion...my bad...carry on.
