*** 2026 PGA Tour Thread ***

Posted this in the F1 thread too, but this was completely out of nowhere for me. Watched the Rick Shiels video of him trying them out and he was impressed, with the caveat that it was their first set.

Golf partnering with terrorists and criminals didn’t work out so well did it?

"With LIV Golf reportedly losing its financial backing from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Golf Digest has learned that representatives for multiple LIV players have contacted the PGA Tour to discuss a potential return. People familiar with the conversations say a path back to the PGA Tour will exist, though the conditions are expected to be considerably more restrictive than those granted to Brooks Koepka."

So, the returning player thing is apparently already expired, I was going to say after getting two guys they wanted but that's not true either because no one really wants Patrick Reed.

Patrick Reed isn't back on the tour yet. He's serving a one year suspension starting from the last LIV event he played which was August of last year. He's currently playing on the DP World Tour. He plans on returning to the PGA Tour at the start of the 2027 season if he can attain eligibility by performing well on the DP World Tour. He's currently paying $1 million in fines to the DP World Tour for playing in LIV events. Even if he can regain his PGA Tour status, he wouldn't be eligible for the equity sharing program until 2030 which is a huge amount of money.

Playing split tees threesomes in an 80 man field (of course it’d be less in a full field with cut) makes me think they think they have little chance of getting it in.

No crowd (like at all).

Scotty doing a great impression of someone not interested in being there (despite finishing 2nd of course).

CBS golf coverage seems to have rolled over and died.

Golf could sure use a down the stretch they come next week.
