What a huge upset for the women’s basketball school. I guess they can take a little solace in the men advancing.
Let's here their excuses.
1pm. weekday game.
The announcers didn't want the Hawks to win.
Definitely was an upset especially with it being on their home court but I think that Iowa's record was better than what the actual team/talent was. They are not one of the Top 8 teams (based on seeding) in the country.
LOL going back to 2021, 2 seeds have lost in the round of 32 4 times and Iowa owns two of them.
Only saw second OT but not a pleasant look on the Iowa coach. Looked PO’d and screaming at the team during a timeout.
I somewhat disagree, she was trying to Challege them to not lose on there home court. Men's coach does that no one says a word.
Stacy Frese did the same this weekend in Marylands loss and was criticized.
Iowa had the problem that we saw our last two games 5/29 (17%) from three and 8/16 on FT. Tough to win when you cannot make shots.
I can’t wait to hear all the lame excuses for this loss tomorrow at work…. it will be delicious! I’ll have to write some of them down. Guarantee one will be that the officiating cost them the game, but they will for SURE be saying that the other team played dirty…. I hear that one all the time when the Iowa women lose.
Sorry I meant Brenda Frese, she was on camera giving a hard pep talk to one of her girls late in the loss this weekend. People on social media called her out for yelling. If you read lips she is very much challenging the player to step up and make plays.
Did she have the crazy Fran McCafferry look that Iowas women’s coach had? The crazy eyes to boot?
