***2026 NCAA MBB coaching carousel***

True...but those were the "rules" and he was more than willing to violate the rules! If he would break those rules...what makes people think he wouldn't break other rules (are there any??)? Once a cheater...
Sure, but he's far from the only one who was breaking those rules. Not trying to defend Will Wade's character, as he's a well known scumbag. Just pointing out that his situation would be far from a fireable offence today.

I don't even know where NC State looks.

Middle of the pack ACC job while your two biggest rivals suck all the air out of the room and you're program has been in turmoil for 6 or 7 years but somehow snuck into a Final Four. It's a weird job.

Flynn Clayman? Mark Prosser? Antoine Pettway? Phil Martelli Jr?
Now that feels like a Fran job if there ever was one.

Wonder why people think we are poor when most people associated with or media around the program consistently say “omg we are poor”…
Because our small-minded AD constantly talks about it rather than doing anything (other than the CyTown folly) to raise money. God forbid he look to the mega-profitable insurance companies 30 minutes down the road or even the ag industry.

Just for the hilarious irony it would be awesome if they hired Hubert Davis.

It is unfathomable levels of douchbaggery that Murphy, Sears, and Hines do this. They do it instantly and constantly as soon as their is any SNIFF of hope (of Iowa State losing a coach). They without shame intentionally quadruple down on this douchbaggery if it is a big sports week for Iowa State.

There are so many very, very wholesome and cool and interesting and important storylines for Iowa State basketball ahead of perhaps our biggest Sweet 16 opportunity in 26 years.. and yet the central Iowa media - with intense focus - carefully ensures their coverage is heavily tilted towards "coaching searches".

"Wellllll but, but, but, FaNs aRE asKINg AbOUt it SO wE HAVe tO AdDreSs iT!!"

Not an issue for me.
I live in Des Moines, and I NEVER listen to any of those clowns.
Try it, you'll like it!

I mean... we're talking about it, aren't we? I don't think it's out of line for a reporter to ask what we're talking about. I think Murph does a fantastic job.

Whenever I hear Wade's name I think of the butterfly effect of him being on the verge of being fired in Otz's first tournament game at Iowa State

I mean that's not even fair. One is a weaselly snake and the other is TJ Otzelberger.

To be fair, why would Lloyd come out and say “I’m completely happy with my job and there is zero chance I’m leaving”? Would you do that at your job if you had competitors courting you? No, because you’d likely use that interest to get a raise, promotion, make your work life better, etc.

These guys use this as leverage to get stuff they want. Sounds like TJ already got his so that’s why he’s saying it.

I know we all want our beloved coaches to never consider other jobs, use leverage, etc but that’s not how the real world works. Someone can use this as leverage and still not want to leave (Joshua Jefferson last year).
