MLB: ***2026 MLB Season Thread***

Going straight from managing college baseball to mlb seems insane.
It's a risk for the Giants no doubt. Has worked out for the Brewers with Murphy but between being a college coach and the manager he was a Bench Coach for Milwaukee.

Looking at his wiki though he left college in 2009 then had some minor league manager years, some bench coach years and it was 15 years before he was a major league manager.

I have to imagine being a college baseball coach and an mlb manager are not alike in too many ways.

I’m too dumb to know if it’ll work, but it seems like a swing for the fences type move that could be great or horrible.

Major League Managing is like 3% what you do in game (analytics run everything anyway) and 97% massaging egos and keeping a clubhouse together.

Good luck, pal.

Yamamoto throws a complete game and Dodgers win Game 2 5-1 to level the series up.
