***2026 Minnesota Vikings***

I'd pay Mahomes EVERY penny of that and more. He'll also restructure and extend, plus he's 27. There is $28.3M in cap space difference between the Chiefs and Minnesota for 2023
Agreed, Mahomes is certainly worth more. But my point is that Kirk's cap number isn't as outlandish as its been, compared to other quarterbacks. The rest of the league caught up. Guys like Matt Ryan, Ryan Tannehill and Derek Carr have similar cap numbers, for 2023. Kirk's cap number isn't quite the boogeyman that it used to be. It's simply the cost of doing business, when it comes to quarterbacks.

2023 picks are useless in the 2022 playoffs. Have to play to win now. 2023 cap is BAD. Lots of aging vets on BAD contracts, KIRK has a disgusting cap hit next year.

Play to win now at 7-1. This isn't the time to plan for the future and piss off Jefferson
This team has a good record now, but isn’t built to go deep into the playoffs.

I’m trying to look at how it gets built that way. And how soon.

‘22 is just a pleasant interlude.

It's alll about getting the 1 (1% chance) or the 2 seed.

That is hosting 2/3 home games in Minnesota for the playoffs. There isn't a team in the NFC I would fear in Minnesota (Since it couldn't be Philly).

Just my opinion and I love the guy and all, but they probably should have traded Mattison for some kind of immediate help. I'm not sure where, but the return would likely have been pretty good.

Here is the Vikings I am used to.
When they are playing bad they are really bad. They are nothing more than 1-2nd round playoff team and then get blown out by The road team. Gosh this weekend has sucked

That's not a failure of a season, as far as I'm concerned

Saw this article today about NFL fields. Interesting

Ford Field is among six stadiums that use slit film turf, along with MetLife Stadium (New York Giants/Jets), U.S. Bank Stadium (Minnesota Vikings), Caesars Superdome (New Orleans Saints), Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis Colts) and Paycor Stadium (Cincinnati Bengals)

Needed that pick. Probably going to have to need to win the TO battle by 2+ to have a chance.

I think everyone, Viking fans included, figured this team was not in the top tier with the Bills, Chiefs, and Eagles. But it would be nice to at least see that they can hang and with some breaks on turnovers win against one of those teams.

Feels like the entire team minus Jefferson is a step behind right now.

Absolutely horrible decisions by O’Connell. The one thing you can’t do is turn it over again with time. Terrible call to take that shot.

Not saying they don’t get smoked 2nd half but that was a massive coaching mistake. You have to take two chances to get one yard. Absolutely have to play for the first down there.

If you're going for it on 4th 3rd needed to be on the ground but I also get the hesitation with the ass kicking the interior OL is getting.

I’m ok with throwing it, just run a high percentage play to get 2 yards on both plays.
