Really wonder if the Twins over-emphasis on sliders is related to what seems to be an excessive number of arm injuries. He missed the zone on a slider and then his last 3 pitches were not close to the zone.
That makes sense, it looks to me like the Tommy John epidemic is partly caused by the overuse in youth sports and the unhealthy toll that hard sliders have on the elbow. Almost like a clock, as soon as you hear "throws gas, nasty 90 mph slider" you can bet on it that they'll be in the OR for TJ surgery

Minor flaw, he has still been pretty awesome this year, especially the last 3 weeks.
Release Ober and his 87mph fastball and release Woods Richardson and let some of the young guys in AA/AAA pitch. These 2 have been terrible the last couple of years.
The Bullpen can all go and find new teams. Maybe keep Funderburk but I honestly can't think of anyone to keep.

Big game tonight for the Twins. Not so much for the standings, but can Ryan come back and continue to be a healthy trade chip at the deadline. Sad, but that’s where the Twins are.
The Twins are back! Buxton was 2-5 & the rest of the team was a combined 0-30. A win is a win......
Most surprising thing was the bullpen pitched five shutout innings.
Beautiful 2 hit, complete game shutout tonight by Ober. Enough to make a young Bert Blyleven proud.
Bullpen did wonderful tonight. One two three ninth. Oh wait, that was the starter.
