MLB: ***2026 Minnesota Twins***

This is the least interest I’ve had in the Twins since around 98-99 when they were trotting out guys like Denny Hocking to start.

I was up in the cities two weeks ago and for the first time in my life, the idea of going to the Twins game didn't appeal to me. I was looking forward to it all summer but why pay money and spend a night watching a team of AAA players and an owner who doesn't care? We stayed in and played cards...don't regret it sadly.

We just keep trotting Adams out there with his 8 ERA.
Up 3 runs, hit, hit, HR tie game. Lol!
Cabrera comes in and hits first batter he faces. Are these guys really major league pitchers!
This is comical, Cabrera balks in another run.

Noah Davis is the worst of all their relievers. Has no business being on an MLB roster.

Austin Martin quietly having a nice post fire sale season. Since the Twins are so talent starved it’s nice to see someone make the most of this debacle.
It would also a be nice if Royce can close things out this month and have a strong season next year like a #1 pick should.

You could have invited me out for a beer. ;)

Going to first game in a bunch of years next week but really to see the Yankees. Will go incognito wearing a Cyclone hat.

I’m not sure if there’s a single guy in the Twins bullpen right now worth bringing back next year.

Twins are not going to survive the Pohlads.

The earth will be so salted by the time they sell, or MLB confiscates a la McCourt and the Dodgers that a move is going to be inevitable with the next owner.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Twins eliminated their entire four-person pro scouting staff, multiple league sources confirmed on Tuesday night.

Though the terminations were telegraphed by how the scouts operated in previous years, staff members learned early Tuesday their positions would not be renewed. The department’s elimination is part of cost-cutting measures by ownership, one league source said.

Always could be.... but the Twins have an iron clad lease with Target field, they can't be moved.
Lease goes to 2039. If you get a local buyer eventually sure, they could stay, but if the Pohlads hang on another however many years until their finances are finally completely sapped, and the interest in both attendance and tv/streaming is non-existent, a non-local buyer (which is probably more likely than not regardless) could use the remaining time on the lease to have the stadium built and then move.

It's an ugly scenario, but it's exactly how it's setting up, piece by piece. Just like the contraction episode.

Kill the market, give an excuse to someone to move the team. A few years of where they're at now will absolutely make Minneapolis non-viable.

Unless you think the Pohlads would "do the right thing" and extend the lease before selling, which, HA. Would only undermine their own leverage and potential buyer pool.
