2026 concerts

I got my wife tickets to the Journey concert in DSM in April. What's it like with the "new" lead singer. From youtube videos he sounds very similar to Steve Perry, I'm just curious what others have experienced.

No, but I'm actually a little annoyed they added this show becuase I already got tickets to Yacht Fest the day before in St. Paul. At least I'll get to see Matchbox Twenty and a few other bands that day with them.
I’m also looking at Yacht Fest. You definitely won’t be disappointed with all the other bands there too.

Honestly not that familiar with LH’s music. Been checking out some of their concert footage and was intrigued by reviews.

Lord Huron reviews consistently praise their immersive, cinematic live shows, rich storytelling, and unique blend of folk, indie rock, and Americana, creating a nostalgic, wanderlust-filled atmosphere often described as a "journey" or "experience" rather than just a concert,

Yes, got the VIP tickets. Not really sure what that all entails. Looking forward to seeing them.
It’s wild to me that they’re on this level now.

I saw them at Wooly’s in ‘13 and drank with the band at Locust Tap before the show. My group was in there pregaming when they walked in and we invited them to the table.

They were just shocked to be recognized

Probably been at least 10 years (Heart/Journey @ ISF) since I've seen Journey with him but for a replacement he was fine. I saw Journey with Jeff Scott Soto at Hilton maybe 20 years ago and Arnel is definitely better than JSS.

I saw them a few years ago and they honestly sounded pretty different live that they do on the albums. Not bad or anything, just different. I thought it was a good show.
Lol I just looked back, it wasn't a few years ago it was like over a decade ago. Time has lost all meaning. They might sound pretty different now.

I think it's kind of wild on the opposite end. They had all kinds of momentum when they reunited and were playing some big venues and headlining some big events. Horizon is a dump. I didn't even know they still did concerts.

I thought I read they renovated it recently and are trying to make it a draw.

They still play some big shows in the summer and big events, but I don't think the idea of them playing arenas on their own was ever going to be sustainable. 5-10K venues is huge for a band that's had absolutely no radio presence.
