2025 Wrestle Offs

It is very hard to predict. Wrestle offs are weird and these are some fairly even matchups. I’d expect Gaitan to win fairly comfortably, but the rest I have no idea
These wrestlers know each other. Sometimes you can have the better overall wrestler lose because the other guy knows the better wrestlers kryptonite and can muck things up just enough to

Looking fwd to results today. Anyone interested in giving an educated rundown on the key matchups? Euton/Riggins, Frost/PJ. Castillo/Perryman and Gaitan/Powe interesting too.
Just my opinion no inside knowledge.

-I love Castillo potential, he’s a small 125 similar to how Perryman has been. Might be a toss up.

-Grice should handle Pearson, though I think Pearson will become a savvy wrestler in this program.

-Frost/PJ is the match of the day. I actually think Paniro might win the wrestle off but I don’t think that settles the spot by any means.

-Euton/Riggins a close 2nd for match of the day. I believe Riggins had a strong summer and I’ll predict he wins given the extended time Euton was out.

-I’ll be watching Gaitan closely. Powe is the type that can get in on his legs, but Powe I am sure is aware that MJ is a pin threat at all times.

-Kane Naak is the future of 157, so Zerban will be a very good test for him. Zerban is still not being talked about enough, in my opinion. I think he’s got the tools to challenge for a title (my opinion only).

-Also curious to see Tate Naak coming off of injury. Dean has tremendous defense but is cut from the Paniro cloth as in, will he (not even can he but will he) generate enough offense to beat the top guys.

One other thing I’ll be watching closely is how CJ Carter looks cut down to 197. I expect to see a decent amount of him this year.

Good stuff here.

125- CC is still too small, but this will be close. I'll say Perryman wins 6-5
133- Grice is going to be problems, in a good way for us. He's been in the program for a while now and will be a great tool when needed. Pearson can have a similar trajectory to the Frost boys if he's hungry - under the radar nationally, but sound fundamentally. Grice wins something like 8-3.
149- Frost wins a tight one, 5-4. Not a lot of action due to familiarity.
165- I love the way Rig has come on. Euton has the potential to be a stud, how is his health? We will find out today. 8-6 Riggins.
174- MJ is just better. MJ 13-8
184- I've been talking about Tate having a breakthrough for a while now. He gets it done today 5-3.

Maybe my brain is just muddled from how bad he was early last year but don’t understand the Riggins love. If Euton is healthy; he needs to be the guy. He maybe beats Caliendo last year without getting hurt.
We all think Euton is tough, but the only people Caliendo has lost to in the last 2 years all won national championships.

I’m not saying that Euton can’t beat Riggins, but to put Euton in the same air as Caliendo is just extremely overboard right now. He got killed by Garvin last year.

I heard a lot of great things about euton when he first came here - diamond in the rough type of kid. Hopefully he can stay healthy and we have an AA threat at 165 between the 2. Riggins has improved so today should say a lot

Pearson gets up on Grice 4-0 but comes back with a takedown at the end of the second and a reversal in the third to lead 5-4. Pearson escapes at the end of the third to tie 5-5. Grice get TD in OT. 8-5. Pearson looked great for a freshman.

Stall warning for Jacob. Panera in on a shot but Jacob ends up fighting it off. No score 1st.

More action from Frost in the third. Three good shots from Frost almost got Pinero, but Parrow got out. OT 1-1
