We used to cheer for 4 year guys that loved their team, fans, school. Now it’s prostitutes and their pimps looking for the biggest bag of money. It’s gotten dirty and it’s hard to buy into the hype anymore.
Lipsey is gonna be a 4th year senior this coming season. Milan a 3rd year junior. That's something to be hyped about.

I say we let a couple of the younger football DB's, LB's practice with the BB squad, part time is OK. First B12, or better yet, a P2 game, send one of 'em in at the 10' mark (1st and 2nd halves) and allow them to give a 'very hard' foul to the opposing teams top NIL getter and leading scorer. Not trying to kill the guy, but a hard foul, above the knees, below the head, follow the rules.

Maybe this will equalize things. I'm just thinking outside the box. A little.

You could have been a University of Texas football coach...

We had one group the bridged the Fred and Prohm era, other than that, we've had hired guns for the last 15 years. Even our best Floyd and Larry teams were made up of juco kids. This is nothing new.

Cmon now lol Big 10 is far better and it’s not close
I dunno. I think most conferences were pretty similar - a lot of mediocre in the bottom 75% that would match up pretty well. You watch Nebraska, NW, PSU, Washington, Iowa, etc? It was bad bb that would fit nicely in the mvc. Difference was in the top conferences, the top 3-5 teams could run laps around top of the mvc leaders.

The top MVC teams could compete okay. But on a night in night out basis, outside the top 2-3 MVC teams, the rest are not good at all. All of those Big 10 schools you mentioned would’ve competed with Drake at the top of the conference last year.

Yep…. That was my point. Last year’s drake team probably about 7-10th in the tiny ten .
Much better than the suckeyes ended up, now this current version of the “new look “ suckeyes are about the same… probably aiming for a 500 conference record and about 10th place.

CBS Sports says there are 10 schools with $2 0M each in their 25-26 basketball teams. BYU and TT from the Big12. The top 24 teams will invest $200M .
Tell ya what… If ISU was spending that much on a roster and we weren’t making it to the E8 or farther every year, I’d be absolutely livid.
