All fair points. I still consider Sinner to have about a 75% chance to win.

Agree completely with grass being Sinner's worst surface. I think he prefers a high bounce, so even though clay negates his power a little bit, the ball sits up right in his strike zone nearly every shot. Hard courts give him the best of both worlds, high bounces and decently fast conditions.

The injury thing will be interesting. I've gotta think at least one of them has an injury show up and impact their play. Either Sinner's elbow, or Djokovic's groin? hamstring? I couldn't tell what he tweaked in the final game yesterday.
Vegas agrees with you. DraftKings has Sinner at -240 which equates to about a 70% win likelihood. In the other match, Alcaraz is at -575 (85%).

Courier seemed to think the worry would be a hip which would be debilitating. He did look ok immediately after but that doesn't always mean anything. Hope both guys are OK and we get a couple of great matches. I'd really like to see an Alcaraz and Sinner rematch for the record but something tells me djokovic

Alcaraz wins in 4 sets (Fritz gags tie-breaker). Advances to the Final.

Fritz played about as well as he could imo. Served great all day and played super aggressive from the baseline. Let that tiebreak slip away, but I thought that was more Alcaraz doing Alcaraz things.

At least I was right about that match. Djokovic not making me look good though I'm not sure how healthy he is. I've never really considered it until now but I wonder if this is his last Wimbledon. At times he hints he's near end but them others he talks about playing through 2028 olympics

I think prior to Wimbledon he mentioned he wants to play several more seasons. You never know though. At some point, you'd get sick of rehabbing injuries and never being 100% healthy.

I think also when you're contending it's easier to say that. If he starts going out in say r2/r3 does he really want to keep doing that?

Thoughts on final?

I know there is a recency bias, but has anyone in the history of tennis bludgeoned the ball more consistently from the baseline? Gave Alcaraz zero time to work with the last two sets, and rarely missed.

Guy is ridiculously consistent on his shots and rarely makes errors. Has to be frustrating as hell to play against.

I said it here when sinner was in control of French open then Alcaraz came back but it wouldn't suprise me at all and I almost expect Sinner to wind up with more Slams. I'm like 51/49 though, it'll be a great rivalry and interesting aspect to follow later in careers.

I think a lot of it comes down to whose body holds up better over time.
