Ben Shelton just retired from the match with an injury before the 5th set.

I watched Joker's on-court interview after his match yesterday...when did he become likeable? I am just kidding...kind of! But that was a side of him I haven't seen...it was refreshing!

It has always been there if you look for it. He was likable even at the beginning when he started doing harmless impressions of various players, but too many fans and some players had a stick up their ass and thought it was disrespectful. The media gets better ratings when Novak is the whipping boy because majority of fans had already picked Federer and Nadal as their go to guys.

I might be a bit guilty of that line of thinking myself...Fed was my #1 by a ton...then Nadal...Joker was #3 of those guys!

If Djokois going to beat 1 of big 2 in a major Alcaraz is much better matchup as we've seen this year. Alcaraz run to Semis has been best I've seen from him. He typically takes a longer path with varying levels. I could see Alcaraz running away if he looks settled early. If it's tight I think I favor Djokovic

Pegula took the 1st set but Sabalenka responds to win the next 2 and move on to the Final.

10 past midnight in New York and Osaka & Anisimova heading to a 3rd set.

Alcaraz wins the 2nd set in a tie-break to take a 2-0 sets lead on Djokovic.

Alcaraz beats Djokovic in straights. I don't know how Djokovic finds motivation at this point. 3rd best player in the world 4 SF appearances, and wasn't close to winning any of them. He's only getting older while Alcaraz and Simmer keep improving.

I thought Alcaraz was solid, but will need his extra gear to beat Sinner in the finals, assuming he wins tonight.

He had a legit chance in the 2nd set so I wonder if things would be different if he would’ve won it. But yeah his motivation levels seem to be dropping drastically because I don’t think he truly believes he can win anymore unless everything goes just right for him.

Yeah, that second set tie break was a killer. He has zero chance winning in 5 against these guys.

Ironically, his best chance to win now might be to let his ranking drop and try get Alcaraz/Sinner early in the tournament when he has the best chance to be fresh.

I think he is 50/50 on retiring right now. Or maybe use the next year as a fair well tour of a sort. He probably wants one more shot at the Wimbledon.

I see in his press conference he said he's planning on playing all the grand slams next year. I'm guessing as long he's healthy, he'll do that, then probably call it quits.
