Their turning traditionally evening sites into noon ones. Sucks. And doing it all in one week. I’m sure there’s reasons. I’d be real curious as to what they are.
Agree. I usually go to the one in Waterloo. I'm gonna have to pick a different one this year.

The lunch stops the last four years at least have all been an hour for the program, but the coaches and staff are normally on site for 90 minutes to 2 hours. The reason for one week tour this year is due to the conference meeting schedules for the coaches and administration, the coaches schedules as well as recruiting dates, transfer portal, etc.

I can’t get to any of them. I scheduled around those evening stops in Waterloo but there’s no way to get to it in the middle of the day, especially if there’s no program or anything and there only there for an hour.

You could drive down to the Cedar Rapids location.... only about 40 minutes difference from Waterloo?

It’s way more than 40 mins for me. Especially with all that construction on 380

It has been that way fir awhile, allies them to do more stops, reach more communities. Anyone can pull a kid out fir lunch if needed.

I would disagree with that notion that 'anyone' can just pull their kid out of school. Some parents aren't able to get out of work on one particular day. Also, my kids only get like 20-30 minutes for lunch - factor in the drive to/from the tailgate stop & it's likely 3-4x their lunch period. Not to mention we're at the end of the school year & there are new attendance rules in Iowa now.

That is too bad. But they really have been doing this schedule for a bit. When my kid, now at Iowa State was in school if we needed to pull him out, for whatever reason we did. Whether that was a 30 minute doctor's appointment or a week's vacation. I guess as parents we get to make those choices as to what we do or do not get to pull our kid out for. If the Cyclone Tailgate Tour is one of those things, then pull them out. JMHO.

Again, it's been that way the entire time they've done the tour. The day stops are a little bit shorter and it seems (from the videos they release) less focused on kids.

This year they had to move to 1 week (but almost the same number of stops) so some areas that are used to night stops aren't getting them (Waterloo is one that is going from evening to day).

Way back when, 25 years ago in elementary school our teachers would scan any book material we needed to keep up on for a weeks long vacation and give us assignments and a quick rundown to our parents. 3 years in a row we went to Orlando and all 3 I got everything done on the flights.

Yeah I never said it hasn't been like this for awhile, so not sure where those criticisms are coming from. Doesn't change the fact that they aren't all that accessible for a lot of people. Is what it is, just not ideal.

I get why they do it but it definitely limits a lot of people. I would be the first one to pull little JM from school to go tomorrow in Waterloo but there’s literally no way logistically to make it work. Sucks because that used to be a night stop for so many years.
