2025 NFL Draft

Not higher, just has not reached his peak yet. Take any player that has been lifting weights for years, and compare him to a new player that is just starting the program there is going to be less growth in the first player compared to the second.
I kind of figured it was the job of every P4 program to develop its players, but you have programs like Texas, where that was just not occurring, under Mack Brown. They had gotten lazy in their recruiting were getting high rated kids that just did not continue to improve, while kids with lesser stars became better players. UT went one year there without getting a player drafted, now how does that happen at Texas?
Texas had some really bad years, it happens. A lot of that development your talking about isn’t stalling out on strength and conditioning but technique. That’s the real difference. Texas had the athletes but didn’t have the development to get them to become NFL ready.

You’re saying it like it’s a benefit to the kid that didn’t workout in high school, which just makes no sense. Sure, some will be freaks and surpass those that got a head start on them, but those kids would still be better off starting earlier and being able to play earlier and at a higher level.

The staff had gotten lazy and was picking up stars that did not improve, while not offering kids that became better players. Whether that is strength and conditioning, coaching or whatever it was a major problem for a P4 school. The hardest thing to measure is desire in a kid, heart for a better phrase. Saban was a master of it, and he would tell the kids on the first day of practice, no one has a starting spot guaranteed, and everyone here is a 4 or 5 star recruit, you want to play, earn it, if not, then leave. How many coaches would bench their starting QB in a national championship game, a kid that had won the championship the year before, few if any, but he did and they won again. Talent only gets you so far at that level, and the most talented players are not always the best players, but when you have one that is both talented and wants to work, baring injuries, that kid will be a star.

NFL Network's draft theme song will never get old to me - it's right up there with NBA on NBC and NHL on ESPN's theme songs that could get stuck in my head and it wouldn't bother me one bit.

As a parent, who has coached and watches my own son, go on to compete in college. Be wary of the people and programs selling you this idea. If your kid is a D1 level athlete, you will know it when you see it, and everyone else will too. If he is borderline, he will have to work harder, no doubt, but excessive training, is not always the answer.

I am not saying your kid should not compete in high level AAU and train hard, but this is a long road, and the kid has to enjoy what he is doing, or he will never survive when he gets to college. Just my 2 cents, others can feel free to disagree.
Its the only advice my Dad ever gave me with sports or anything else that I wanted. "Desire. Desire will force you to do the right things and if don't do the right things you will learn. If you dont learn you dont have the desire." I know right where we were at, in the pickup with him, when he said it to me.

Ok round 1 seems boring enough live, how are there so many people to watch round 2 of the draft live? What is wrong with people?

Please baby jesus, let our beloved players get drafted by competent organizations. No bears, no vikings, no jets.

Thank you.
