Posting some content I'm coming up on today:

Who are the biggest risers from Day 3?

i

Jayden Higgins, WR, Iowa State

Higgins built on his standout Senior Bowl performance with a strong effort Saturday. He ran a 4.47-second 40-yard dash, exceeding the low-to-mid 4.5 range that was predicted coming in. Higgins also jumped 39 inches in the vertical and 10-foot-8 on the broad jump, showing that he can climb the ladder and catch the ball over defenders. He was expected to be third- or fourth-round option, but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes inside the top-75 picks.

i

Jaylin Noel, WR, Iowa State

Entering the combine, I had Noel in a Round 2 stack of receivers alongside Jayden Higgins and Tre Harris (Ole Miss). I might have to separate Noel a bit after a fantastic performance Saturday. He started off great with a 41 ½-inch vertical and an 11-foot-2 broad jump, then showed his burst and long speed with a 4.39-second 40-yard dash. I'm a sucker for slot receivers with deep speed, and that's exactly with the 5-foot-10, 194-pound Noel. -- Miller

12 risers beyond Round 1

i
Darien Porter, CB, Iowa State
Height: 6-3 | Weight: 195

Porter was a third-rounder before the combine, but his on-field performance shifts him into the second-round picture. He ran 4.30 in the 40-yard dash with a 1.49-second 10-yard split. He also had 10-foot, 11-inch broad jump, second among cornerbacks. He's a former receiver who is still raw in his technique at corner, but the traits are there.

I wonder if the current S&C staff are a big contributor to these guys showing out. We've improved our recruiting quite a bit but these combine results have been a nice surprise.

It's really interesting to see this. I mean, our guys really did well in Indy. I wonder if Campbell has some kind of special consultant he brings in just for combine drills. It would be very smart to do that, because getting players drafted is by far the most important thing in improving recruiting. A couple of first rounders does more than winning 11 games. See hokeyes...they've been selling the nfl for decades now. It also helps that a few of our former players are doing well in the league and are not just backups. We've never had that...multiple guys who are pro bowl type players.

Guys like Brock and Breece doing well in the NFL is so huge for ISU.

I hope that Hutch keeps growing, and if Jaylin/Jayden can both become starters/good players, it will be HUGE for continuing to grow the program.

ISU has to do the “bet on yourself and come here” schtick because we just don’t have the money of some of the big boys.. but we have a fantastic culture, and if we can consistently develop NFL players, it would be HUGE.

No sure when Iowa States pro day is, but I wouldn't be shocked to see a lot of agents watching Noel/Higgins. Noel's getting comped in that Ladd McConkey/Khalil Shakur vibe.

I’m sure they already have agents!

If I'm Noel and maybe even Higgins I'm probably not even working out at ISU's Pro Day. Don't need to. Maybe just run some routes for the scouts.

Noel should only be there to interview and meet with teams. No workouts. No point after that combine performance.
Correct, why risk any possible injury that doesn't need to happen. He already rose his draft stock. Look what happened to Gunnar Helm. He rolled his ankle pretty good.

The ISU Combine stat that stood out most to me. Noel bench pressing 225, 23 times!
Montgomery, much thicker, 16 reps.
Nut. JN has been hitting the weight room, BIGTIME.
As well, yet another Great Cyclone, on and off the field.
Post game interviews, pure class act

Not impressed. He only would have been ranked #9 for DTs and not even top 10 (12th) for OL. :jimlad:
