2025 GA Parking Scalpers??

Scalpers purchased a lot of the parking passes when they went on sale. I don't mind the parking in the GA lots but wish they would allow season ticket holders the right to purchase one of them when they sign up for the tickets.
There is parking out to the west off of Mortenson, right across the old towers dorms out there in a church parking lot. Not sure of the price, but they seem to do a decent of business. About a mile walk to the stadium, if you cut throw a park and a couple of yards. There is also a lot of people parking on the shoulder of the street that goes back north on the west side of the towers out that way.

I don't know how scalpers are getting multiple GA parking passes when you can only purchase 1 per account per game. I had this problem the other year trying to get a 2nd pass for a game so my wife and younger kid could leave early for a night kickoff as Ticketmaster somehow was even smart enough to know we had 2 accounts in the same household and wouldn't let me purchase another pass so had to have a friend buy it and transfer.

The biggest issue I have with buying the passes is you have to buy each game 1 at a time. Ticketmaster won't let you just add all the games you want to your cart and check out in 1 transaction. A friend said their credit card got flagged for fraud because of this when they started buying passes when they went on sale and had to use another card just to buy all the passes because after 2 or 3 their original card got flagged.

There are some private lots on S 16th just before the GA lots that sell parking like the Ames Christian School and I think at least 1 other business just up the road too does. They have part of the 2 GA lots closed off for parking this year while the sod from the hydroseeding comes in from the S 16th expansion project. They took off the big berm in the 1 lot along the road so I am curious to see how parking looks next season once it's fully opened up. Yes traffic sucks getting of the there but still an affordable option for us non-donors and just a quick walk past RV village and across the bridge to get in the game.

I can handle $50.00 but I was truly shocked when I went to get a grass lot pass. I normally park with my son in D5 but we are bringing family and need additional parking.
Yeah.. they are sadly in the market of doing business too. ISU ups their price, they will follow suit.

They set up multiple accounts with multiple fake addresses, it's a business and I am sure they have come up with ways to hide their actual location. Much like telemarketers use phone numbers that are no longer in service to call you. You block their call and they just use a different number to call you. These guys are doing the same thing.

Do you know if you can turn left out of this lot after the game? or if there is traffic control?
I haven't parked there in quite a few years but they used to route you back to the north and on to a side street. You didn't come out on to S 4th.

I did notice they did barricade the east bound lanes of South 4th and University (Elwood yet to me) for the Iowa game so you could not get out that direction just the traffic from the RV, G6, Haunted Forest, and G9 lots. Even saw a couple of fights over road rage coming out of the G6 lots.

The haunted is an option and they are expanding. They can also park a lot of cars in the private property that is next to the park that is just north of the haunted forest across 4th St.. It's a nice spot to tailgate and plenty of room in the park north of that area for kids to play. I don't know what either are charging but I suspect they have increased their prices.
The private grass lot on the north side of 4th Street, East of the River was going to $50 during the USD game. I didn't see the price for the Iowa game.

So I’m going to ask the question. Does the athletic department care if scalpers are buying all the passes? I’d like to think they do care, but do they care enough to do something about it?

I’d think it’d be as simple as using ticketmater’s presale code feature. Register a user on cyclones.com to get a code and require that code to get a parking pass. Maybe even require a donation to get a code and make the passes a bit cheaper.

I assume they do... which is partially why I created this thread.. But maybe they don't care either, as long as the $$ is flowing in.

LOL No they don't care. JP has made it pretty clear over the years that non donors don't matter.

If you don’t care about setting up your own tailgate, park on campus. If the kids aren’t up to walking around campus, drop them off with their mother at the drive through old RCA around Linden. They can run around on the grass there until you meet up with them. We lucked out and got the east parking deck for South Dakota, then got caught in the rain on the way back to the car.

As long as they get money they don’t care. Would be smart of them if they slow played the passes and scalped them themselves

Just like tickets for events they just want them sold, that is all that matters. The seats in front of us and behind are scalper seats, its different people at every game. When I ask them about it, they all say they purchased them online from a secondary provider. It's the same with our WBB tickets.

Good luck finding parking for the AZ I see. Starting price right now $268!
Well the good news is I was able to buy a GA pass before they sold out, bad news is I need two more passes (one for brother and one for my dad who weren't as lucky as me). Maybe I'll offload mine for a profit and pick one of these private lots discussed here lol
