Depends where you look. The river has closed HWY 169 3 times that I can remember. It is not anywheres close to that now. I think that measurement is on the HWY 18 bridge in town. Ya it says official but it doesn’t tell the whole story.Didn't think the river was even that deep up in Algona.

Spring is coming cleared out some trees that fell into the field and picked some rock on the way to move the trees.
Also in a central Iowa business that can't be named vein, Google Sunterra farms, just got busted kiting millions of dollars of checks in both the US and Canada. 100,000 plus pigs on SoDak that are going to be finished by Compeer financial.
I would have linked but suck at linking. Sorry about that.
Thank you!![]()
Lawsuit: 110,000 pigs were in ‘imminent danger’ due to billion-dollar check-kiting scheme • Minnesota Reformer
The transactions had the effect of creating phony positive account balances that caused Compeer to pay the companies interest, the lawsuit claims.minnesotareformer.com
Solid business plan.
Things will really pick up quickly by weekend in WC IA. A couple of the early birds were out yesterday sticking corn in. Lots of sprayers getting pre down this morning along highway 30 so the cultivators won't be far behind. It'll be full speed ahead by middle of next week if the forecast holds.Federal crop day today in Iowa for corn. Will be interesting to see how many planters are rolling this weekend as I think there is a good chance to see a few guys going in NC to the east side of NC IA this weekend. Conditions seemed to be good while knocking down some ripped ground to pick up rock the other day.
You get to pick rock also? I thought I was the only one that made that part of the spring plan.Federal crop day today in Iowa for corn. Every year.... I'm under the impression that we grow just as good of rock crop every year as corn / beans. That or someone likes to fly over at night dropping rocks out of a plane. You get to pick rock also? I thought I was the only one that made that part of the spring plan.
For southern Iowa, northern Iowa is the 15th.Federal crop day today in Iowa for corn. Saw a guy around 7:30a in the field this morning just south of Grimes but looked like he had only driven about 20 yards or so and was just sitting in the tractor so he may have just been dialing in his settings or actually planning to plant the field today. It's a field that is right next to his homestead so could just be getting the planter settings dialed in today but will have to remember to take notice if the field looks planted when I drive by on the way home tonight.Federal crop day today in Iowa for corn.
