I know there are great people who sell the brand but yeah not exactly aligned with Chris talking about supporting local independent media.

Channel the seed brand was created after Monsanto purchased like 20 independent seed brands over the years. Basically took all their branding and ties to specific geographic areas and rolled all of them under the Channel Seed umbrella.
Don’t forget Pioneer has done the same thing. They have not bought out as many smaller companies, but they bought maybe 10?

IMO we appear to be on the edge of a serious problem in agriculture....reliable dealership labor and supplies (parts access). At our local JD store we have been short 2 full time mechanics and they moved the shop foreman to a central location. Thus, depending on timing of the breakdown, response time can be a couple of hours to several days...and in ag that can be critical to profit potential.

The dealership is trying to find mechanics, but as the work forces is aging in agriculture the pool of great candidates is very, very small. And when a great young mechanic is trained, he leaves to a better job...which leads us to being down two mechanics again.

It feels like having fellow farming friends that can help is just a critical today as it was 100 years ago.
It's like any of the trades, plumbing, electricians, etc, where we are facing some serious shortages. Except AG mechanics are much more than just "mechanics". It's so much more technical and I think if a college or state could market the need for new more technology focused Ag technicians, you could really grow that industry. If I were 20 years younger I would seriously consider a career change.

Why does Chambers get involved with running this Coop as CEO? Why was Matt President, of the Board? And CEO? They should get ahold of Iowa Institute of Coops to bring in someone to run the show. But they maybe don’t want an outsider seeing what is going on?

Like 6. Hogemeyer, NuTech, Seed Consultants, Ag Venture, Dairyland and Mycogen (which became Brevant to allign with Europe). Mycogen & Dairyland came from the Dow/DuPont spin off so not really bought. Not sure on the others

Yep but not one of the main sponsors for a company that pushes the importance of independent local media vs national conglomerates. Also the vast majority of the companies DuPont/Corteva have acquired still exist as regional brands with products targeted for their specific market

It read like they have someone coming in soon. This wasn’t a planned thing, it was sudden. I’m guessing they have who you said contacted, just need s week or two to get the person in and rolling.

Looking at forecast if we can dodge significant rain on Wednesday I think we'll be in the field planting Thursday or Friday.
