2025 field work

This is a product that has new “bugs” as I call biologicals that are carried by a product called Dust. Dust is a very fine soybean meal that replaces graphite and talc.Do 4cy and 76,response.

Will it be like Duracade and starlink and released before approval so lawyers get to sue and make a bunch of money.

Manure work.

I do fall tillage, and the weather cooperated well again last fall to get the corn fields done.

I looked at our planter and manure tanks this past week. My father in law wants to use the insecticide boxes on the planter for the first time ever. Getting them working shouldn't be too bad.

I have a few spots on a hill that I need to do some dirt work and then I'm going to try a prairie mix.

I was hoping to build an autosteer system this winter but I'm running out of time to get it finished.
Wear a mask when filling those boxes.

I know I wish I could go back and wear a mask every time I changed out a whole planter of those dumb **** Aztec "exposure free" smartboxes.

Also, as nh3 application is now in full force, don't skimp on PPE. A 3m full face and ammonia cartridges is dirt cheap on Amazon. Just do it.

what do yall do for sweet corn? I'd like to know... is it free seed from your rowcrop guy? do you buy from a catalogue? roundup ready? Are you no longer growing?

My parents still put in a patch every year for freezing.
I buy ambrosia hybrid from Brekkes in Ames for my garden. Already has an applied fungicide.
Prefer that over peaches and cream which seems to be everywhere.

I will be seeding my small plot watermelon and tomatoes early next week. They need about 6 weeks in the greenhouse before going out... Vincennes, IN is my big growing region. Bell peppers and speciality peppers after that up in Michigan but we have a late last frost so they will be a bit....

our sweet corn port is a working progress. Its hard to beat Obsession.
A lotta ****** river following dirt roads on the Illinois side.
Vincennes has a small college. Not a bad town.

320 already planted in the last couple days down the road from me in Black Hawk Co. Large family farming operation (8000-9000 acres?) including organic farming so my best guess is it was planted to peas as they have planted them in the past.

Centrum Valley Egg is being sued by some ex employees for wage theft and other related issues.
It's a blizzard right now this will have people slowing their jets for a bit.
Don't forget to sign up for your leftover crop ins money pay out. 40ish for corn and 30ish beans.

Signed up yesterday for it. Other than the FSA office having trouble accessing the application for 30 minutes, it was nice to see FSA finally open the application process for it

Free seed from seed corn dealer if we have time. Lately been buying from the Gates Family who have a well managed and marketing program in a wide area around Creston. They plant different maturities that are staged to market early and end late to have a steady supply all summer. A large family with grandkids now.

What maturity group do you plant for beans?
3.2 thru 3.5, we’re 15 miles from the Missouri line and 25 miles SW of Creston. We have planted some late 2’s on 40 acres or less to get the combine and platform set up and ready to roll. Early beans don’t yield like 3’s down here. 4.0’s were traditional for decades and 3.8 were a big thing for a long time.

also, they are doing some sweet corn transplants for a couple guys up in Wisconsin. they must really wanna hit those july 4th sales
