Tampa & Montreal heading to OT.

Boston beating up the Sabres 4-0

That was nuts… an unfortunate. That was early in the second period and it was already 9:30 pm local when the glass shattterrd.

With that delay, I just had to call it bedtime and record the rest of the game to watch today.,

This has been a heck of a series thus far, expect it to continue.

Thoughts on the Stars /Wild

1) these start times NEED TO BE FIXED. Why is a game between to teams in the central time zone starting at 8:50 PM on a weeknight when the preceding game was shown on TNT and TRUTV? Even without OT, the game is finishing after 11:30. This game finished shortly before 1AM

2) lots of embellishment by Dallas, especially in first two periods. Wish officials would make that call

My morning vent since the Wild lost in double OT last night...totally agree with @Cyhig about the start times. Not sure why the NHL is so worried about overlapping games in this day and age, people can watch multiple games at the same time.

More importantly, the format freaking sucks. The top 3 teams in the West are (most likely) going to play in the first 2 rounds. Mix the damn divisions up so you get the best teams in the conference finals.

And finally, Jamie Benn needs his face planted into the ice after the opening face off of game 4. There's no way his hit to the back of Boldy's head was an accident...and Duchene is a d-bag.

Vent over.

1 million percent agree on all these items (Jamie Benn can get f’d). Only caveat is I don’t think it’s the NHL dictating start times, it’s the networks.

The NBA playoffs do the same ****. Every Nuggets and Avalanche game in Denver is scheduled for 8 pm local or after (until the conference finals if they get that far). And they NEVER start on time. I always expect actual tip/puck drop to be at least 20 minutes after scheduled time (which is already late as it is).

I hope Benn at the very least gets fined, but he deserves a suspension. The officiating, especially the first two periods, was very suspect. Dallas knows their PP is one of the best in the league and will try to embellish to draw a penalty. The officials let the game get away from them. Hope they don't officiate this series again.

Here’s the Benn play on Boldy that sent Boldy to the locker room for evaluation for the rest of the first period (10 minutes of ice time) for those who haven’t seen it yet. And no penalty was called

Here's another view of the hit on Boldy.

Good angle. My issue with the hit is Benn was looking directly at Boldy. Boldy was trying to stand straight up again when he got hit. Benn had every opportunity to move around Boldy. And if you watch Benn's stick, the stick is pointed up when that video starts, then lowers down to hit Boldy's head, then raises again after the hit, all the while staring at Boldy. I am biased, but this certainly looked to be intentional and Benn has a history of dirty plays.

Benn's slewfoot on Boldy. He's obviously targeting the Wild's (arguably) most important player.

That whole game pissed me off so much. It was very exciting due to all of the ridiculous penalties. So....many...penalties....and yet they missed lots of calls on Dallas.

I didn't watch any games during the regular season...are delay of game penalties this common during the season?

I stand by my prediction that it will be yet another 4-1 or 4-2 first round loss for the Wild, but I agree on all counts regarding this stupid format. Is the regular season schedule so uneven that you can't place them 1 through 8 and just play a normal bracket?

The point of the format is they are trying to create rivalries by playing in division. I guess it’d be similar to a play-in situation. But it just feels like they’re trying too hard. The rivalries exist already. Just let it play out naturally.
