I can't imagine San Antonio had done much game-planning for Caruso to guard him. That's why it's probably so good to have gotten that game. They'll have a better plan for Game 2 and I can't imagine OKC will stick with that assignment.

I’m sure they planned having on Caruso guard Wemby because Caruso is who OKC uses to guard bigs.

They’re not posting up Wemby because back-to-the-basket is not Wemby’s game. He’s not that strong and doesn’t have a ton of post up moves.

Maybe. But I haven’t seen a defense do that to OKC. Game 2 will need some significant strategy changes for OKC and how SGA runs the offense.

Oh, and maybe they shouldn’t have Caruso cover Wemby. That feels like a mismatch.

He was very good player in college but never thought Dean Wade would be a Starter on a conference final team and even more surprising defensively drawing the opponents best backcourt player in a majority of the postseason.

It’s been awful and the harden stuff is typical but Mitchell has shown no initiative to stop this at all. I think the loss is ultimately on him.
