The headscratcher for me is Riggins. The guy is really good in the room, hell he can give Chittum all he wants and more. Then he gets on the stage and just sucks it up. Iowa St has to get better at 165-197 next year. Euton is tough and if he gets back to where he left off, he is gonna be the guy. I am not sure about the rest of that lineup.
Yeah he is a baffling one to me, obviously a high end recruit. But the way he moves out on the mat so god damn awkward and weird. Agreed Euton is going to be the sole one I'm counting on in those 4 weights, I think second most likely for a spot is Bartelt at 184.

I feel like it’s a very slim chance Evan can keep holding this weight for another year. A nice dream scenario
People said the same going into this year, and he made it back down and is managing his weight really well right now. It is a lot of weight to cut, but I think 133 is his best weight if he wants to be a high AA. He strength and size is a true advantage for him at 133

True that, and a lot can happen between now and the 2026 Nationals, but with Yonger that is five potential finalists. Next year could be a whole lot of fun.
E Frost will struggle making 133 next year, I am telling you that kid is one tough mofo that he is making it this year. What I HATE, is both Frost bros might have to move up and there are studs at those weights. The fan will say, that is a good thing, the returning AA says, BS.

It is just like everyone else as they get older, they do not want to kill themselves all year worrying about weight. E Frost was 160's over the summer, One frickin sixies! He has to keep his weight down to a science and then you get caught up in worrying about weight vs getting better at wrestling. Good look at that UNI dual, he was not sweating at all. Now, Frost is one bad dude, and these are my opinions only, I have never heard this from him. He could tell me to shut the hell up, he is fine and going 133 next year.

The way i see it right now PJ might be the odd man out next year
125-meza/castillo
133- Frost
141 Ech/frost
149-Casey/Ech
157-Chittum
165- Euton/MJ/transfer
174-MJ/transfer
184- Bartellt/Naak/transfer
197- Schon?/ transfer
hwt- Yonger

165- 197 need to bring in compitition via the transfer portal.

197 is the biggest weakness to me right now. We could always upgrade at other weights, but 197 is where we don't have a clear top 20 caliber guy on the roster

100% agree would love to see a hammer brought in at 197 to really solidify the lineup. if everyone stays healthy 125 to 174 has the potential to be an absulute murderers row next year. i believe that mj has all the right goods to turn it around. at the pitt duel dresser said mj has really only been healthy for the last little bit of this season. one good offseason could really bring him to the next level.

Potential names for 197 being thrown around are Stephen Little, Rocky Elam, and Joey Novak. I'm not really sure who else would be a potential target

Riggins is limited athletically, highly trained, and thus peaked early. He's a highish floor, low ceiling type. He will improve over time but it will likely largely be incremental.

What's with all the trust and excitement over Euton? Is it because he kept it close against Caliendo? Outside of a takedown, he was still handled by Caliendo (who is a guy that gives up takedowns), and was beaten soundly by Garvin. His performance last year wasn't particularly remarkable, either. I guess I don't see it. Frost moving up will start a chain reaction of guys moving up and I don't see him in the lineup if that happens.

Seems unlikely for Voelker. He will be in a room with 2 NCAA champs around his size for the next couple of years, in addition to going to college 45 minutes from home. A payday might move the needle for him but the biggest $$$ schools seem to have other plans in place already.

You don't see many transfer leave or move into UNI. Thomsen transferred back to Iowa from SDSU?

Who else has transferred in or out of UNI?

With this lineup the question is for me twofold…

1. Osmany at 33?
2. Biggest question yet TBD, who in the logjam of 141-157 can and should carry the extra weight and bump to 65’?

So if frost moves up i see something like this
125- Meza/Castillo
133- Osmany/Meza- Meza looks like a big 125 to my eyes
141- Evan Frost
149 - Jacob Frost/Ech/ Casey
157- Casey/Paniro
165 Chittum/Euton
174- MJ
184-Bartellt/Tranfer
197-Schon/ transfer
HWT- Yonger

The real what if scenario for me is what if evan stays at 33 and everyone else bumps
125-Meza/Castillo
133-Evan frost
141- Jacob frost
149 - Ech/casey
157 Casey/paniro
165- Chittum/Euton
174- MJ
184- Bartellt/ transfer
197 Schon/ transfer
HWT- Yonger

2nd lineup would be insane, is Casey taller than Chitt where he could carry the weight better and handle length from opponents better?

Bring in the ‘97 from Little Rock and lookout
