From a Cyclone perspective I really want to see this hire happen.
This cracks me up until I remember as a Californian I’m subsidizing these welfare states that all seem to have the money for a top-tier football coach.
The best part of the contract is that LSU pays Kiffin the bonuses he would have earned if he stayed at Ole Miss. I would like Landry to explain that to Louisiana residents. Jimmy Sexton outdid himself and earns a huge star.

Really? They definitely do from a PR side, but they could really end up screwed here. Headed to the CFP and their coaching staff just got gutted, couldn't/didn't do a real coaching search so they promoted a DC that no one else was interested in for a HC job and they are likely about to have their roster/recruiting class gutted.
They have a crazy tough schedule next year as well. It could be ugly quick in Oxford.
And Kiffin proved you could win there! So yeah...I think this is true in many ways!
I think there is a fable involving a frog and scorpion in regards to Kiffin. Everyone acting surprised about Kiffin's character.
Ole Miss gets in the CFP and won’t have to pay bonuses. They get all the goodie of the years Kiffin was there. They get LSU to basically pay about half of this year’s salary of Kiffin. Probably got LSU to pay the bonuses due the assistant coaches. I wouldn’t feel too sorry for Ole Miss.
And what good is that if they are a .500 program again next year (which there were for the better part of 50 years before Kiffin)? Theoretically they could still win a title this year and all is well, but that's an extreme longshot at this point with everything.
It would be a big upset if they won their first round game. Financially they are in a lot better shape than they could have been. Plus, a coach has shown they can win at Ole Miss. and fans knew that Kiffin was going to go to LSU and for that program to pay a good chunk of the expenses I find interesting to say the least.
