***2025-26 CFB Coaching Carousel***

Not surprising at all, Kiffin is taking the LSU job, but wants his cake and eat it to by finishing the season at Ole Miss. and if not he threatens them with taking most of the players with him. AD and the president need to man up and tell him "an Ole Miss coach will be on the sidelines for the playoff game, not the guy going to LSU." Guy is burning a lot of bridges leaving town, hope it comes back to bite him in the ass.

H could coach for 5 years and be as good as anyone they hire...then turn a more stable program over to the next guy...that is what I would do if I were LSU.
That is a really good point.

LSU doesn’t give a coach a 5th season unless they’ve already won a national title.

So if Fritz is still there at 70 then it was definitely the right hire.

That tweet should be directed at Hawkeye fans and other fans that act like Campbell’s shine has worn off.

It hasn’t. He’s still a candidate at every major programs hit board year in and year out.
Campbell would be considered a home run hire for PSU after 2-3 seasons.

PSU should be the most attractive college job (that isn’t ISU) to Campbell.

That opening scares the **** out of me.

Those fans will be pissed. They were pissed when they thought it was Golesch on Friday, but they had come around to it.

That's why I don't love the thought that a school like Penn State won't take Campbell because the fans won't like it. Fans ALWAYS come around.

Fan reaction is the only reason PSU might give pause to hiring Campbell.

Unless Campbell wants to coach in the NFL it is arguably a perfect fit for both.

State College is a small midwestern/rust belt college town. Everything points to Campbell valuing that kind of environment.

PSU clearly values culture and continuity. A coach that would stay at ISU for a decade is a dream candidate.

Unfortunately I think you’re right about the role of fan reaction in their decision making process.

Fan reaction is a dumb reason not to hire someone. Like I said, fans always come around. You don't think Campbell would win the ******* intro conference?

I hope Penn State has something else up their sleeve.

I hit post too quickly.

I 100% agree on fan reaction, and I think PSU will be smart enough to ignore it.

Is there a better fit at PSU than Campbell?

If they offer and he doesn’t take it then I’d be 100% confident he’ll never leave ISU for a college job, OSU and ND included.

The only time I’ve see.ln fan reaction prevent a hire (that I’m aware of) was when A&M revolted against the Stoops hire
