***2025-26 CFB Coaching Carousel***

I don’t see how these firings and buyouts are anything but bad for the Big 10 and SEC.

maybe Jimbo Fisher gets another shot? Ed Orgeron? Chip Kelly?

Bill Belichick might be interested in some of these openings.

Being a “stickler for rules” will always get you in Texas.

The big winners in all of this is going to be the Mississippi and Oregon coaches, they are going to either get a huge payday to move to one of these schools, or be rewarded for staying where they are. Either way, they are going to make tens of millions off of this. Seems to me that instead of chasing one of those two guys many of these programs would be better off finding the next Cignati, someone that has been very successful at the lower levels for a decade or more at multiple schools. Who was Saban before he was hired at LSU, mildly successful coach at MSU, Meyer was at Utah before Florida, very successful coach in the MWC, find the guy that fits your school and who you are as a program and what you want to achieve, just not the next big name.

Looks like James Franklin interviewed at VA Tech. That would be a good fit i think. Plus, for the first contract anyway he has no incentive to ask for much money so there should be more to spend on players and staff.

Joe Brady can probably name his price if Penn St and LSU are interested, right? He should get an auctioneer and bid it out.

If I were PSU I’d go completely different and get a physical ball control style coach. You aren’t going to outdo tOSU in a pass oriented offense. Not thinking to go full option attack, but maybe? Zig when the rest of the conference zags type of thing.

I get that...but will kids want to come to that style of play? I mean the elite kids? I do keep waiting for the pendulum to swing back toward a running-first game of football.
