Does Todd Graves (Raising Canes founder) donate enough to LSU that it outweighs the fact that Louisiana is a poor state and LSU's endowment is ranked dead last in the SEC??

I feel like LSU is a really good job, but in the modern era, I don't think of them as truly elite (Unless Graves personally funds them, Texas Tech style)..

Florida on the other hand is #4 in the $EC for endowment, is located in the best recruiting ground in the country, and is the only SEC school in Florida. Those jobs are tied IMO

ELITE:
Georgia, Texas, A&M

Great:
Bama, Tennessee, Florida, LSU

Good:
Ole Miss, Auburn, and OU

The rest:
SC, UK, MSU, Arkansas, and Mizzou

ND is going to do everything to lock down Freeman. IMO, the only other job he would leave for is OSU. If Freeman does leave, the cultural shift he created will not be followed up with an old head like Urban.
Yeah Freeman seems to make sense at ND.

I feel like with guys like Urban, it's tough to not get the itch. A guy like Kelly i think has that too.

Then I'm guessing LSU's lawyers will be working that angle. If he wants to retire I'm sure they'll be cool with that...and they'll then say "this provision of your signed contract requires you to pursue employment commensurate with your experience. We will cut you a check for $10m to consider the contract fulfilled. Please discuss with your representatives."

And my guess is Kelly's lawyers will say, he's 64 and that's retirement age. No need to look for another job. He's ready to get a condo at Bell Bocca Vista, draw social security, apply for Medicare and play Mahjong with the gals.

Stupidity by AD's & Presidents is not a legal standing.

I guess if we’re going to have a down year, maybe this is as good a time as any so we (recruits) don't have to hear Campbell’s name being brought up in all of these searches.

I’m just grasping for silver linings at this point.

IMO if Chizek can go from ISU to Auburn. Then with the number of open jobs, Campbell's name will continue to be thrown around even if ISU finishes around .500. Probably not at a Florida, LSU or PSU level school. But the next tier of schools like UCLA, UNC (?), etc.

Some school is going to value Campbell as a culture building and feel his recruiting will take off in a state that produces a lot of P4 football players. Like has been, just a matter what Campbell wants.

Next to Texas, LSU has to be the best gig in the SEC. I get the thought process, but they are a monster. All the facilities, fanbase, backing by state politicians, etc. to give you every resource possible. Louisiana is also a great recruiting hotbed with no instate competition. And they DO have the money, endowment be damned. If Cuban can help bankroll Indiana to the top, well Graves is 3x richer than he is. Holden Spaht is their other supposed big donor, he's just a rich as Cuban.

They've got everything any major coach could want. The downside to the job, it's championship or you fail. Expectations are nuts. There is a reason why they've been able to win 3 championships under 3 different head coaches in the last 25 years. It's just that good of a job.

We could feed like 100,000 kids for the next year for what these guys are getting to NOT to coach. Not to mention what these schools are gonna have to pay to get a new coach along with most likely buying out whatever existing contract those new coaches are in.
.
And the only way you would take one of these jobs is only if there’s a huge buyout so you get rich, even when you fail.

Because failing involves everything but winning a national tile.

Starting to really hate college sports

University of Nebby in trouble financially and the millions in buyouts they have had to payout over the last decade is incredible to watch.

A bit surprising, but I actually think Sumrall would be a pretty smart choice. He's been very successful albeit with a short track record. Could afford to spend a fortune on staff surrounding him vs. spending $15mil on a Kiffin type.
Saban back to LSU would be entertaining. Would like to see that happen just to see Alabama fans reactions
