Shayok is an underrated cyclone. Guy was a baller

He was a top-tier bucket-getter, 18.7 ppg on 50/39/88% shooting from the guard position. Those are pretty elite numbers!

Was at that game and it was so awesome. The growth from him and MJ during their sit-out year was impressive. Particularly when you think about the overall player development under that staff.

Thats because Ohio St was a garbage team who shouldn't have even made the tournament. They slowed the tempo and made us play down ti their level. Prohm had no answer for it except to finally play Cam Lard and he looked like the best player in the game.

To me that game was the epitome of the Steve Prohm era. Doing less with more.

Reminds me of when ISU played Purdue in the tourney, I don't know what year, but think we got down like 20 points and Prohm finally figured out how to use Deonte Burton and attack their defense. Too little too late and they couldn't get over the hump late in the game and lost by a few.

ISU really needs to turn their early tourney woes around and actually go on a run for once. These flops of games they have are really disappointing. It's not like they lose from playing well, generally it's they're getting their sh*t rocked and start so poorly and then have to dig themselves out of a huge rut all the time.

Shayok had such a pure smooth shot, loved his game. He wasn't arrogant or cocky, just that silent assassin that would rise up and hit a 3 that half the time was a swish that barely would hit the net. He was definitely underutilized at Virginia.

Meet almost every other program when it comes to the tournament. So many really, really good teams that didn't get very far because they either came out flat or ran into another team that was on fire.

But Gonzaga was probably ahead because the way had the higher net when you went out to more decimal places.
