NBA: *** 2024 NBA thread ***

Watched the game but didn’t check the thread until it was over. Lot of accurate comments at the time that are now a great read. Not a slam on people just an accurate recording of the roller coaster ride. Finals are more fun with Tyrese!

So are we better off having the Prohm disaster because it got us Hali?!?

I love Hali but 2-22, it did give us TJ also though, so I'll give it a begrudging yes.

That’s where I turned off halftime, which was very early, when Stephen A was screaming about how SGA could not be stopped.

He was 8-18 shooting, calm down. Yeah he finished with 38… on 30 shots! And only 3 assist. He shot 46%, the same as Halliburton did, who ESPN geniuses was saying had a bad game up to the final shot.

God I already miss TNT.

They are star F***ers and the only stat that makes a star to them is volume scoring. They probably wouldn't even acknowledge Joker if he was only at 20ppg.

The Brunson vs Tyrese stuff on ESPN early in the playoffs was insane, garbage like Brunson is a superstar and Hali isn't a star. Just nonsense. It's idiocracy what that network has become.

Betting the Pacers to win, when they are down in the 4 quarter has been very lucrative.

I can't get over they were 29-1 to win the East at the beginning of the year. They made the ECF with the same team a year ago except with major injuries.

Hard to imagine a better bet than that all year, it's not really a stretch to go one round further.

I wonder how many game winners an average NBA player (someone who averages a significant number of minutes per game) makes in a year? It can't be that many. And, yet Tyrese is out here making basically 4 in the playoffs alone.

I will never be great enough at anything to know what it must feel like. I'd love to know.

Hali hits the go ahead game winter with .3 left on the clock that really is the game the only part worth watching was the 4th last 5 minutes is where they finally chipped it away.
Really? Okc is a serious great team. I take a lot out of the whole game. Pacers were close to cracking the code, but couldn't until the end.

Not sure but Steph Curry has probably been the best in the league at it over the last several seasons.

Pacers kept it between 10-20 but were down 15 in the 4th. If you're a Pacers/Hali fan yeah the last 5 minutes are the part to watch. I mentioned somewhere in the thread about the physicality of the game , both teams were playing hard but if you're Pacers fan why waste your time on the whole game?

I never once derided OKC, but lets be honest tonight's thread would not have had near as many comments if Hali wasn't in it.

I really don't think we are that far apart from each other on this opinion, but just look at it from slightly different viewpoints.

But I wonder how many he averages in a year? Or how many he had in the year he hit the most game winners.

I don't doubt that there's players with more than 4. I'm just curious how many.

And, as we all know, there are VERY few that have more than 4 in the playoffs. Ever. And Tyrese has 4 this year.

Okc is vulnerable, Hali is crazy clutch. Never heard of sga till 3weeks ago. Pacers play real basketball an I love it.

The last shot was great, but the intelligence to get it absolutely astounds me. He played to force a double team and when OKC took one step towards TH, he fakes a pass forcing OKC off the double team, giving him the space to not only elevate, but have a great look at the basket. I've always been impressed with his intelligence. It's uncanny.
