Is it just me or is it kinda creepy that every game at OKC all the fans dress the same? It feels cult-like. I understand doing it for 1 game.... but every game in the playoffs?

his game is similar to a dominant fastball/changeup pitcher. he plays at different speeds depending on the situation and uses misdirection so well. you have to do a lot of guessing when playing against him and you are going to look silly when guessing wrong.

I think his speed and movements are deceiving too in the same way.

He doesn't seem to have a 'tell' on what's coming.

One thing about this playoff run has highlighted to me is how much individual stats are overrated to team success, and I'm not even talking about Tyrese.

In 3 of the 4 series, the Pacers have let the stars of the team get there's and focused on making sure the role players can't get into rhythm. They'll sit back and let Donovan Mitchell, Giannis, and SGA put up 30+ shots if it means the rest of the offense never gets into rhythm.

So then you get the talking heads raving about them putting the team on their back and how great all of these players are without really understanding its part of a scheme by the Pacers.

Meh. Nothing wrong with doing stuff to make your home court advantage as impactful as possible. That fan base is known for their engagement.

This is it exactly. The lazy, lousy NBA analysts, many of whom work for ESPN and are on Twitter, are absolutely unable to realize this. They just see points and and stars. And some NBA GMs/owners seem to also fall into this trap when you’re giving up huge assets for players like 35-year old Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal.

Bill Simmons and the Ringer I think has the best NBA analysis and commentary.

Brunson had great offensive numbers. He was also the worst defender on the floor and his teammates rarely saw the ball.

People don’t realize how great a ball dominant superstar has to be to be a champion. At any given time there might be one or two in the world and they need to be a defender to be a champion. When a star player is a distributor (magic, bird, LBJ, joker) there are a lot more ways to win if he has some flaws.

Smart taking the shot as close to the basket as he could. He didn't need a three pointer. Just needed a FG.

I agree with you.... but every game seems too much.

Those two and windhorst hoops collective (ironically espn) are the only coverage people should follow outside the tnt crew.

Pacers radio gets fun post game but not in a deep analysis way.

Caitlin Cooper is Pacers specific, but she's the best Xs and Os person I follow. She was the one who first called out the Mitchell/SGA strategy. I never had a great appreciation for the basketball part of the NBA until I followed her (and on patreon too). Tyrese has called her out in press conferences specifically for her insight.

I'm all for this type of thing, but I can also get behind "white outs" being slightly creepy, just do baby blue and IMO it would be less creepy.

11:20 mark

So damn awesome.

Best call ever. Didn't understand a word he said, but I understood every thing he said.
EDIT: If Jim Zabel was South Korean, this is exactly how it would sound. GOOGLE the 1985 Michigan-Iowa game and it was exactly the same.

She has popped in my YouTube feed a lot since Tyrese trade. When I lived in Chicago Stan Smith was our local guy where it was like “wow this guy knows basketball”.
