That's right, he forgot about that Jax State-Kennesaw game.Ahem
I don’t think a super league is going to happen, for a variety of reasons, but I feel like I could make a case with recent viewership trends that it really wouldn’t have the viewership downside that you would expect. For instance look at the Oregon State numbers after they got relegated out of a power conference and played on a channel that nobody is used to watching football on.Part of the reason I think a small super League won't happen. Yeah the Big 12 might not pull too tier SEC numbers but they still pull good numbers and are a large chunk of inventory. Live sports are still very consistently viewed on TV and I don't think it makes sense for these networks to kneecap a good portion of the top few leagues to try and optimize for the top brands. You lose a large chunk of your inventory and now some of your large brands start losing a lot and their shine wears off.
That's my optimistic view. Pessimistic is immediate money trumps all

Totally agree with all of this. There are multiple examples of blue bloods going through down periods but eventually coming back and even during the down periods it seems like there are always reasons to believe that the return to glory is imminent. That’s probably going to be even more true now with the transfer portal where you can bring in a bunch of high profile players every offseason.Depends on how the superleague is executed.
Consolidation to a P2 has been great for ratings. And more programs have legitimate playoff chances, and hence the opportunity to be relevant and play in “big games”
Taking the consolidation further, to a P1 of 20 or 24 schools that make more than anyone and dominate the CFP, but isn’t formally separate, is tenable.
It’s arguably better for the networks AND those outside the P2, as 12 to 14 schools are pushed down to join the middle class, allowing for several regional conferences, and without losing inventory or fan interest imo.
I don’t see the shine wearing off P1 programs that have more losses than historical. See the SEC of the last 30 years. For example, UF hasn’t lost stature during its down period. The P1 brand in itself will have so much value that the P1 programs can ride through lulls
I agree with some of what you have said on here but disagree on UF, they have 100% lost statureDepends on how the superleague is executed.

I dont remember the last time I watched Florida play and I watch a lot of football.I agree with some of what you have said on here but disagree on UF, they have 100% lost stature
The real question should be 'when' the poll is taken. Is it before, cumulative, middle, or end of the game. And 'how' is it sampled. I'm curious because I found myself progressively switching back to it as it developed for the pure thirst of seeing Bama lose. Did they count me multiple times?Vandy .vs. 'Bama???
Nothing has been lost, just mutedI agree with some of what you have said on here but disagree on UF, they have 100% lost stature
Got a link or anything for that last statement because it’s 100% falseNothing has been lost, just muted
We’ve seen it before with UF, in the Zook and Muschamp era
Ask anyone doing valuations or putting a list of national title capable schools, and UF is still top-10
Curious why you think Florida can’t be a Top 10 capable team to win a National title?Got a link or anything for that last statement because it’s 100% false
They certainly can be, but can is the operative word here. You could say that about alot of teams and Florida has some major issues right now including that they have to try to rise up in the hardest conferenceCurious why you think Florida can’t be a Top 10 capable team to win a National title?
Still wondering.I haven't seen much of Ohio St this year.
How in the hell is Will Howard their best QB option? How?
Ryan day is not a good coach, it’s not that hard.Still wondering.
Classic guy born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.Ryan day is not a good coach, it’s not that hard.
