Maybe, we'll see, we were #18 coming into today. Today's game will give our SoS ranking a big bump.
I think it matters more who you beat than overall SOS.

Team A plays 3 of the top 15 teams, but loses all three. Their remaining 9 games are vs mediocre to poor teams. Overall SOS may be strong, but how good is the team if they actually didn’t have any quality wins?

What I used to love about CFB was the do or die-ness of it like one loss could cripple things.

That's not to say a bigger playoff isn't more fair but if Bama loses this they have life and then some still.

It will take some getting used to.

Problem is, if Bama does lose this... they will only drop to like 3rd or something ridiculous, and Vandy will all the sudden be like 10th.... because.... SEC!

We will see the same BS with Mizzou and aTM this week I am sure.

I was just thinking same. When/if it goes to 16 a team like Alabama can really mail it in.

8 would have been the sweet spot. Teams ranked 5th going into bowls have ended season w national champ claim. To my knowledge nobody ranked 6th or lower at end of regular season has.
