Looks like CJ Carter committed. Originally from Glenwood. Was a JUCO national champ at HWT this past season for IWCC. He had to beat the kids who place 2nd, 3rd & 4th to win that bracket. Good depth piece at HWT

Sounds like he will be at ISU this season as he was a full qualifier out of HS, most likely will be red-shirting this year.

Gives us Schon, Herrea & Carter all as HWT options for next year. Love the roster depth KD has built here at ISU.

I happened to see 1 or 2 matches of Carter online in HS. He stood out as tough, and strong, with a low center of gravity. If you don't subscribe but don’t often visit the Council Bluffs Nonpareil, I believe (not positive), this link is free

The article is very brief, but includes a video / summary of IWCC national championship matches, and brief interview. As heavyweight Carter is last.

A photo of Carter in the title match is included with the article. …

Twice during his time at Glenwood, Carter was a state runner-up. …
Now, Carter remains in his home state and will compete with the Cyclones, reigning champions of the Big 12. Iowa State was 13-2 in 2023-24, and finished fourth at the NCAA Championships in Kansas City in March.

Might be getting a little greedy, but adding Zinkin and Olivarez to go along with Castillo would make 2025 a phenomenal class. Add in Lockett (if he truly is considering flipping) and it becomes one of Iowa State’s best classes of all time

In this day and age of college wrestling you take being greedy when you can get it.

Nothing greedy about it. What weights do those guys project at?
