***2024-2025 NCAA FB coaching carousel***

The fact is WVU didnt have the cash to land a proven p5 coach. Kendrick promised big $ if and only if RROD was hired. Sure, WVU could have hired an up and coming coor with no head coaching experience, but he would have had a similar roster as neal brown.

RROD was promised a "blank check" to hire a defensive coor. He was also promised NIL dollars on top of fully funding the house settlement that puts WVU in the top third of football, and in the top 4 in the big 12.

Im not sure all big 12 schools will be able to fund the house settlement, and those that cant are going to take significant hits to their recruiting.

RROD, love him or hate him, is at least a better x and o coach than the 3 guys they had since he left in 2007. Is he as good as gundy, aranda, matt C. and others in the big 12? Maybe with better talent he doesnt have to be, I mean Coach O won a natty at lsu and he isnt exactly a rocket scientist.

Here's a tidbit. Oklahoma State and arizona played 3 years in a row. The 1st 2 games, with stoops as coach, the Cowboys won easily. In his first year as coach, in 2012, RROD sent a message:

In 2012, the Arizona Wildcats and Oklahoma State Cowboys faced off once again on September 8, 2012. This time, Arizona pulled off a stunning upset, defeating the No1. 18-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys with a score of 59-38.

Quarterback Matt Scott threw for 320 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Ka'Deem Carey scored four touchdowns. It was a signature win for the Wildcats under Coach Rich Rodriguez and marked a significant moment in the team's turnaround
What is the house settlement?

What is the house settlement?
This is a huge ass deal for college athletics. In short, it is a settlement of a lawsuit by former players for NIL money. The name of the lawsuit is called House for short.

The settlement, which was approved by the NCAA and its members, requires a percent of revenue, and for 2025 it is set at roughly 20 million, to be paid annually to the university's scholarship athletes. Each school decides how much of the settlement to fund. So now you basically have revenue sharing with the players.

That is 20+ million dollars in expenses each school must pay starting in 2025. And not every school has that laying around. So, if a school can fully fund the house settlement, and it gives 50 percent to football, the football player roster will be 10 million. that way more than most teams pay now.

WVU, as an example, may not have funded the house settlement at more than 50 percent had neal brown received a 7th year. Now, bc wvu donors have opened their wallets with the rrod hiring, WVU will fully fund the house settlement--which helps all sports--and will have more money on top of that than they had this year to fund a better football roster.

The House settlement removes any pretense about college sports being amateur athletics. College sports are now officially professional sports.

WVU apparently trying to poach Oklahoma's defensive coordinator. if that happens, we will know the rumor that RROD has a blank check to hire his dc is true.

The last time the Jets made the playoffs bill Belichick's girlfriend was 10.
Bill Belichick is in talks with UNC, not because of the program, because it's a short walk from the stadium to his girlfriends dorm room.

I'm kinda jealous just like you.
