***2022 Week 8 CFB Games Thread***

I think basketball can be more exciting than football and noone is trying to "lay the wood" in that game (well, it isn't supposed to be part of the game.)
Football players are sort of our gladiators. I perversly enjoy it and often find myself wishing for the other guy to get doubled over by a big hit, but I really shouldn't.
There are exciting elements of football that don't necessarily need the violence, passing and catching can be one, maybe another is really good running where the back is able to avoid tacklers, but with the amount of equipment they wear and the fact that contact is required in every element of the game, it would be significantly different. The prototypical football player would also change substantially.
Maybe technology will be used in the future to change the level of contact / damage to something more acceptable. Ha, maybe also officiating can be improved while we are at it.

Just win the 2 home games and they are in 4th place. Add either road game and they are tied for 2nd. Defense wins championships, but you cant let offense and ST lose games for you.
Wish we could have played KU and KSU without their starting QBs. I hated how the schedule lined up, just knew those guys would get hurt and we had them early.
Think they will end up 3-6, and they really should have been 6-3. Woulda coulda shoulda.
It would be better if the Big10 commissioner were there to discuss Stanford's application into the conference.
For someone who supposed to be plugged into college football, Timmy's Duggan story didn't make much sense. If Duggan always dreamed of going to Notre Dame (they offered) why didn't he go there?Well he made it sound like none of those schools recruited him and TCU found a diamond in the rough which is not at all the case. They just won the recruiting battle against a lot of schools.

Love seeing OSU beat Texas. Ewers to me is a good QB, but overrated for sure. He was #1 in his class in high school nationally almost. Also the Texas D is so up and down.LOL. Texas is awful.
It’s a conundrum a lot of people have I think, especially when considering CTE. I just can’t get to the point that I’d watch that particular product, anymore than I watch frisbee football or such. Technology can hopefully help to some degree, but it’s still pretty violent.
I don't think it was dirty last night, but Howard got hurt by the defender trying to punch out the ball and it looked like he hit him in the ribs.
The bye week came at a lousy time also. Would have been better before the Kansas game. This season is cursed I tell you
No one is “trying to lay the wood” in basketball? You haven’t watched West Virginia play under Huggins have you?
Yet no one looks at the Big12 like a serious contender so dumb. Michigan and Ohio State beat up on easy teams and then just have to play each other to win the Big10. Don't get me wrong, both Michigan and Ohio State are great teams but they can sleep walk through several games a year and just have to get up for a few of them.
