Disagree.
I think there is a place for a 6’4” guard, the 2 time MVC player of the year, great student, 40% from 3 and 94..% free throw shooter. He is a natural 2, but played a fair amount of point guard. Lipsey will not be b12 ready. Need a point guard backup too. Maybe you are assuming IB and Gabe both return. If they do not we need a shooter. If they do, Greene would easily be in the guards rotation. Will he be all b12 / I doubt it. Would be a solid add imo.
I believe they said Green but meant Carter. Green is basically an auto-add to me if he wanted to play here. Fills a massive need as a secondary ball handler and a guy who can really shoot the ball, especially if he can embrace a more off-ball role primarily.

I was unclear - I meant coach Green knew what he’d be getting with Carter. AJ is 100% a take.

Oops, I just dumbed your post because I thought you meant Green wasn't a good fit. I completely agree, I'm not sold on Carter either. I don't see how he helps much.

Due to Phyfe dealing with long-haul COVID, Carter was forced into playing the 5 at UNI and did very well. Excellent footwork and post moves. Decent shooter. Ok handle and defense. I'm guessing he wants to move his game to playing the 3 or small-ball 4 and doesn't feel that will happen at UNI. I also don't see it happening at Iowa State.

But what do I know.

Green transferring to Iowa State would be like landing a 5 star, blue chip, one-and-done, McDonalds All-American. The guy will step on campus and be capable of averaging 15+ppg shooting 40+% from three and 90+% from FT.

For those that know better what kind of defender is he? Four years in UNIs program with several of those years with his Dad as his coach Id think he is dialed in on defense.

Miller and Condon just said they are both hearing from multiple people that AJ is headed to Ames. Trent said he's been hearing it for a couple of weeks.
I don't listen to these two on the radio. Without making this a shouting match, can someone honestly just tell me what stock I should put into their opinions and/or reporting on this?

I listen to them quite a bit. Trent is a Tavern Hawk and Miller has probably been doing sports talk as long as anyone in the state and is fairly neutral. Neither one of them shoots from the hip with baseless claims like Marty Tirell use to, and I'm pretty sure Trent use to do radio in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area and is a UNI grad. I think they probably have better connections than your average person and at least believe what they are saying. Doesn't mean it's going to happen for certain though. It seems obvious from some of their discussions they monitor CF as well, and probably have premium subscriptions.

If Miller has premium access he's sponging off someone.

If Carter was a Cyclone today he would play ahead of Condit, Jones, and Enarunu He can rebound , post up and shoot threes, Sort of a poor man's Kenny Pratt in the post. But he is too short and slow to be a difference maker in the Big 12.
I don't know if that's true in regards to playing ahead of Condit, Jones, and Enaruna, but if it is, he's likely a take. You don't generally pass on guys with two years left that are better than 3 seniors currently in your rotation. I don't think difference maker in the Big 12 is the bar.

Conditt and Jones play as much as they do because of defense. I don't see Carter giving that. And the perception of Enaruna would a lot different and he be an All-MVC guy if he playing that many minutes at UNI.

If Miller has premium access he's spo going off someone.
He said he talked to 2 different people that don't know each other that told him the same information. I don't think he's just going off of message board chatter, but you never know I guess.

Two sources, guessing Randy and someone he ran into at a convenience store in Ankeny.

Yes - I want him to develop the Curtis Stinson 8 foot teardrop shot and a better 3. He gets those and he's unbelievable.
I really think the floater will be big for him. He's actually shot the three well as of late, something I expect him to carry over into next year. The floater would be something he can get almost at will as he keeps getting better.

The 8 foot floater and a reliable high off the backboard lay-in are the difference between a 6 foot tall Hunter being a 11 ppg guy and being a 20 ppg guy, IMO.
