Seems like the type Baylor and TT get and turns out to be a stud.
what are the rules for recruiting? When a player visits campus, can he work out for the coaches? I mean, can you really see if a guy is cut out for playing Otz's defense just by watching film? The recruit will be told what he's getting into, as in our identity, but would think it would be hard to know if they can really 'cut it' until they live it. Grill may not be as talented as some, but I think he works hard on defense and is good at it.

I don't know, but the staff figured it out last year. Every player they brought in does what is asked of them defensively.

I may be remembering wrong, but I'm pretty sure we've had recruits scrimmage with our guys on visits. There's always going to be a bit of unknown, because a guy trying to make an impression can certainly amp up his effort level for that, but from our initial recruiting, I think our staff is after guys who are high energy/high effort guys, and the film will show that.

Read older article that he was redshirting this year. Is that correct? He is out of South Dakota so would think TJ would know about him. Wonder if he goes back home and plays for the Jackrabbits?
Yes he redshirted.

Good quick listen from our 247 guy. I think Nick’s done a good job jumping in this season. He’s hearing Jazz is likely back maybe Gabe too and Brockington is 50/50.

How does that work scholarship wise? If all three return, we add the 3 freshmen and King (transfer). Do we have enough scholarships? or does that mean guys at the back of the rotation likely leave?

Could be wrong, but pretty sure that the guys returning this current year that otherwise couldn't have didn't count against the scholarship limit, but next year's would. Someone can correct me if that isn't the case.

I was told by one of those guys with "UNI" in their usernames that there was a 100% chance Green wanted to play professionally somewhere next year.

Has something changed in the last couple months we don't know about? He would be the ultimate prize of transfer season if true.
I have it from two credible sources that green intends to transfer to ISU. Based upon who these people are, I would say it’s very likely to happen. Never say 100%.

How do you retain Hunter, Kalschuer, and Brockington and add Green and keep all 4 happy? One has to (probably) hit the pine if you’re starting Tre King as well.

I wonder if that's what the staff sees here too. Given how even the lowest hype transfer this year worked out for us(Jones) I feel like they've earned a bit of trust on it right now

Gabe goes to the bench no question. If he's on then he'll be on the court more but if he's off then you don't have to rely on him as much as we did this year. Easy call for me.

Sit King, go small. If you can get a legit 5 in the portal, you start him with the other 4 and platoon with whatever bigs return. Grill, King and one of the frosh are your reserves at the 2-4. Green and Gabe can spell Hunter at the point.

I feel like Hunter, Gabe and IB are locks to be starters. Green is great and I'd love to have him but I don't think he bumps either of those 3. If anything, he accepts a smaller/more specialized role to come join a team that just went to the Sweet 16 and reunite with his dad. I think him being promised any kind of starting role would mean TJ is looking to go small.

If Green transfers to Iowa State, he won’t be coming off the bench

Green would for sure start over Gabe. He's the back-to-back MVC player of the year. He would instantly be our best shooter by a landslide.
