2022 Olympic coverage

I actually feel bad for her. She is a kid and didn't know she was taking or was coerced into taking PEDs. Sounds like overall the competition was a **** show.
I feel bad for her too. As you said, she is a child. No, she should not have doped, but I also put more of a blame on the adults around her.

I also thought Lipinski and Weir have done an excellent job commentating this. I think they've done a great job of being sympathetic to her while saying that she should not have skated. I also thought them providing minimal commentary during her routines was very powerful

Crazy how NBC keeps saying how awful this is for that 15 year old Russian, and how they feel for her, yet all they do is keep their cameras right in her face while she’s breaking down. They don’t give a s** t about her.

I also feel like there's a difference between the announcers (who are saying they feel terrible for her) and the producers who are choosing what to show on camera

Probably the 1st or 2nd most followed story of the Olympics in the U.S. not going to let those rating get away.

I don't think those are NBC cameras - I think that's an Olympic media feed that NBC commentates to.

Emotions are the money maker and the people commanding those cameras thrive on it unfortunately.

Totay different deal but I'm one who hates when they do this with NCAA bball so this sort of stuff is a whole different level.

After her performance, my wife turns to me and said "well at least we know the medal winners were clean now" and I'm like Are you sure? Cuz I'd be stunned if the 15 yr old was cheating but her older teammates weren't.

That coach should get a lifetime ban, if not for running a dirty program than for being the world's most evil person after her skater had the routine of her worst nightmares. I kept thinking, just give that poor girl a hug and tell her you love her. Berating her afterwards isn't going to change the scores.

Stunning victory by Sweden beating GB in curling.. Surprised all the curling fans aren't posting today. These Olympics blow. Watching the Russian women's figure skating team show some of the best sportsmanship I've ever seen has to be the highlight.

I was of this opinion too but listened to a sports radio show which said would you expect anything else out of Russian coaches. To Russian coaches it's win, win win. No time for mushy shows of emotion.

I was really surprised to learn that the US has the second most medals and second most golds in winter Olympic history.

Watching the bobsled competitions I was curious as to why they list the country and the "pilot" when giving times for each entry. Do both or all 4 members of those teams get medals if they place? I guess I never noticed that the "pilot" gets more recognition than the rest of the team.
