NFL: ***2022 NFL Season Thread***

they lost to both the Bengals and the Bills thus don't have a tie breaker vs anyone. They caught a huge break not having to play in the first round.
Still have to win this weekend and if they do and Bills lose, none of these scenarios even matter. And even if they both win or lose, a lot of football still to be played. Getting the #1 is imperative as they can let other teams duke it out and it guarantees them to only see one of Cincy or Buffalo in the playoffs, not both.

Crazy to think, though, that Mahomes has not played a road playoff game yet.

What I dont follow is they are addressing the AFC championship games where teams would be separated by 1/2 game (Cincy/KC/Buffalo).

Shouldnt they address the potential AFC divisional game between Buffalo/Cincy? I guess Buffalo was full game up on Cincy, but Cincy would have controlled tiebrake with win.

Most likely since they have the same number of games played they are using regular tie-breakers. The neutral site stuff is mainly to address teams that have an unequal number of games played.

Curious to where the neutral site game would be.

All three teams are outdoor cold weather teams... will they really put in a dome ?

Indy first one that comes to mind, somewhat equidistant.

KC plays on grass, both Cincy and Buff use turf. Rather they go someplace like Nashville and play outdoors on grass as opposed to going to a dome.

Disagree.
It’s not a break. If Bengals had won and Chiefs best Raiders they get #1 seed. So how is that catching a break if they don’t get full benefits of #1 seed?

Sounds like Bengals are going to vote against the neutral site proposal. Will be interesting to see what happens
Their representative on the committee even encouraged the other members to not vote for these proposals on the grounds that if you want to change something, that's what the offseason is for. Cincy shouldn't vote for it as they could lose a home game based on a coin flip. KC shouldn't vote for it as they would be the ones losing a potential home AFC championship. No one outside of Buffalo or Baltimore should vote for this as they shouldn't be changing stuff on the fly when there is already mechanisms in place to deal with it.

Well, it's approved. Doesn't have a vote breakdown yet.

then now it becomes a b!tch fest of WHERE. It really needs to be as neutral as possible. Not like St. Louis or NY. Indy seems most likely but with both teams being used to outdoor/cold this time of year maybe it's Chicago or Cleveland?
