Both OL's are bad. Quite frankly that is a major issue with most of the League right now. They banged on Russ a lot tonight but Herbert sucked at least as much.

At least Murray can hold onto the ball, unlike Gordon.Nice play calling by Denver in OT, run two straight plays up the middle for no gain with 50 year old Latavious Murray, incomplete, punt. The old Ferentz family offense.
Can they save any cash if they cut him? They banged on Russ a lot tonight but Herbert sucked at least as much.

Cut him and move on.
They should do it, they won't but it'd be the best move.A lot of $$

Russell Wilson $245M Contract Mocked by NFL Twitter During Broncos' OT Loss to Colts

So, get a starter in the draft and have a $250 million back-up?I don't think they can and still field a team. It would be over 100 million in dead money and the Broncos have 23 million in projected cap space.
They're stuck until at least 2025 when the dead money gets down to a more manageable but still brutal 49 million
It was more then just OT. The last 3 drives were basically all the same. They did the same thing time after time. As bad as Russ had been he is far from the only problem for the Broncos. The o line sucks, the coach has sucked so far, and the receivers struggle to get consistent separation. The o line is missing things that are taught in high school.Nice play calling by Denver in OT, run two straight plays up the middle for no gain with 50 year old Latavious Murray, incomplete, punt. Agreed. Very unlikely they'd cut him before then. The shocking thing is how dramatic the dropoff has been. Russ had some terrible olines in Seattle as well as some crappy running games in recent years, and still was able to produce. It's hard for me to believe that suddenly this year his supporting cast is that much worse.I don't think they can and still field a team. A national writer (long forgotten who) said Russ is very much a product of Seattle and Pete Carroll.Agreed. Very unlikely they'd cut him before then. But he's definitely got Denver over a barrel on that contract. There's no getting out of it for a while. It's hard to call Denver stupid for trading for him and wanting to lock him into a long term deal. Russ falling off a cliff, performance-wise was not something many people saw coming.
Chicago's win chances for their remaining games probably just went up a bit across the board.in not shocking at all news, Ihmir Smith Marsette has been cut

He needs a specific type of receiver group to be successful. He actually doesn't need a great o-line, he proved that with Seattle though it wouldn't hurt.
He has no Tyler Lockett right now and it's killing him. He needs guys that can make plays down the field and instead he has a bunch of underneath options.
That probably means he was overpaid but it doesn't mean this isn't salvageable, Denver just needs to find playmakers who better fit what he does well.
I think he has most of that but somewhere between the HC OC and Russ, it aint working.Agreed that he needs better receivers, but I think Denver needs to ditch their coach who is in over his head and find a veteran coach, that is similar to Carroll, but more up to date offensively. Wilson can't wins games by himself. He needs a decent run game and at least average defense. Find a strong coach who will call a distributed run/pass game and I think they could be successful.
I think the defense has actually been pretty good for Denver. Wilson needs an OC that builds the offense around his strengths and lets him move around.Agreed that he needs better receivers, but I think Denver needs to ditch their coach who is in over his head and find a veteran coach, that is similar to Carroll, but more up to date offensively.
