NFL: ***2022 NFL Season Thread***

Lol. Are you even reading my posts? That's exactly what I'm saying, that people shouldn't care if he's seen as a legit number 1 or not. I didn't even bring it up. It was another poster who said he was "silencing the WR1 doubters". My entire point is that we shouldn't let that be the definition of success for him.

Sorry, maybe I did take your post the wrong way. I thought you were saying his stats today weren’t those of a WR1.

I’m just saying that he’s GB’s WR1, and he was today too, even if his stats didn’t look like it. He was a critical piece of today’s win….. the best WR on the field for GB.

You know better than to argue with Clonedude, he is an Idiot. I called him out in the PGA thread and he turtled and wont respond. .

I haven’t been back to that thread for quite a while…. I’ll go check your post now to make you happy.

I would argue that Doubs was, today. He was targeted more, had double the catches and almost double the yards. Lazard did just fine, though. There's no need for him to hang his head.

One of Doubs' catches was a masterpiece. All hands out in front of him.

This Broncos situation with a special assistant already shows you that they must not have faith in the head coach.

Hackett was only brought in to lure Rodgers, and then they couldn’t get him to come. He isn’t an nfl head coach at all. Very clear to see. Also, he is either misusing Russell Wilson or Russell is just terrible now.

I mean, he has 4 catches for 45 yards and a TD on 6 targets. Not exactly what you'd expect for a #1. I'm not a doubter, but a stat line like that isn't really silencing anyone.
From what I've seen, not all of his contributions show up in the statbook well. Either way, if Cobb and Doubs continue to start showing up more regularly, that'll actually help Lazard. He's a great receiver when he's not always the focal point.

GB WRs are weird. They kinda don't have any "WR1", but they have a pair of WR2s and a rookie working into a role on the side. They should fill out into roles better within a few weeks.

I’m super excited about Doubs, and possibly Watson too if he can get healthy, although he needs to get better hands.

But I think Lazard was the WR that had the most affect on winning this game than Doubs, but we can agree to disagree on that. Lazard made more plays in the most critical times IMO. But I’m also biased…. I love Allen Lazard!!

Per this article, they brought in this Benkert guy (former GB practice-squader) to the practice squad. He will be 3rd string. Purdy is currently 2nd string behind Jimmy G.
Yeah, that’s what it sounded like the kids said. I had never heard of him and we are Packers fans so that tells you how much experience he has.

I love that we're at a point in the NFL where a 55 yard FG is a ho-hum scoring play. No fanfare from the announcers. No particularly rigorous cheering from the fans. Hasn't been that long ago that even attempting one from that distance would be relatively novel.

One of these teams is going to be able to breathe a sigh of relief, after tonight's game, with optimism that despite shaky play in the first couple games, all of their goals for the season are still realistic.
The other is going to have some significant clouds over their heads.

Is Purdy next up if Garoppolo can’t play?
Yes.

See post 4,352.
