NFL: ***2022 NFL Season Thread***

That Urban Meyer is just playing 4D chess out there, isn't he?

None of the rookie quarterbacks looked especially fantastic yesterday, but a little of the shine has come off Lawrence's rose.

I bet he's gone before November. (Urban)

Maybe. But that would be a really, really bad look for him. This is a guy who is really used to that Teflon persona allowing him to dictate. We've seen how he tries to strongarm media. The only reason he has been able to get away with that is because he's successful wherever he goes. If that armor starts to show holes, and he isn't able to dictate the narrative any more, I think it impacts his overall ability to run a program.

Fair enough. But everyone knew Jacksonville was bad before Meyer took the job. He'll get 3 years at minimum to turn it around. In my opinion, failing to fix Jacksonville in 3 years would be less damaging than bailing halfway through his first season.

Fields' problem throughout the draft process was teams hated how long he holds onto the ball before throwing it.. Combine that with really good d-line play for another team.. It's a recipe for disaster.

He'll need a top 10 line in order to succeed, which isn't going to happen in Chicago without multiple trades/FA signings/Top 10 draft picks

I'm calling for Nick Foles because with a turnstile OLine the answer is always to put a statue back there.

I'm not a Bears fan but it's painfully obvious Nagy needs to go. Problem is I'm not sure who they could get

Been some talk about the Bills OC Brian Daboll. Don't know if he would work out either but does seem to use a pretty diverse offense.

That may have just been the worst piece of reffing I’ve ever seen. And as a cyclone fan I feel like that is quite the bar to clear

I’m not a big NFL guy, so I probably just don’t know. On paper, one would think Chicago would be a decent spot. Big city, team with a decent history, playing in a pretty bad division which is probably going to get even worse when Rodgers leaves Green Bay after this year. Seems like, again, on paper, it could be set up for quick success. Is the ownership just that god awful terrible?

I liked Peyton and Eli at first, but the shine is quickly wearing off. Eli just looks lost all the time, and Peyton seems to be trying too hard.
