Lost to 3 unranked teams, (Iowa, Northwestern and PSU). Then they beat 4 unranked teams. So 4-3 in January all against unranked teams. He must have meant they are playing as well as anyone in between Indianapolis and Louisville.
Yeah they're on a four game winning streaking beating teams soundly but they're all average or very bad teams: Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan State, and Minnesota.
Let's not forget that Katz is now an analyst for the Big Ten Network. He has to pump up teams more than they deserve.

Teams that start the season in the top 25, stay there as long as they win on the regs, regardless of who they beat.
