***2022-23 MBB General Thread***

I don’t get the love affair with UCLA this year. Lost to Baylor and Illinois in non conference. Beat Maryland and Kentucky which I suppose looked good at the time but not resume-boosting wins now.

Lost at Arizona which is fine.

Barely beat USC first time, barely beat Washington State.

PAC 10 is super weak this year.

We have 5 top-40 NET wins. They have 2. We have 4 better than their best win.

What am I missing another than their name?

They're really talented with a good coach. They impress me as the type of team that may not live up to the hype in the regular season, but that you won't want to play in March.
 
They've got guys that have had good success in the tourney which in theory should help.
I don’t disagree with either of you about the level of talent but doesn’t the rating seem overblown even before the USC loss?
 
They looked better than half of the Big Ten yet are still a fringe tourney team to the 'experts'
I'm maybe a little surprised the coach hasn't gotten lured away yet. I don't think he's elite by any stretch but he's turned USC into a respectable program.
