2021 Stock Market

I use Fidelity, but that's only because one of my old employers used Fidelity for their 401k plan. Even though I no longer work for the employer, I kept all my accounts with them. I am happy with them and their service.
I use Fidelity. Happy with it and used to it. No issues at all.

Fidelity’s desktop interface and app keep getting better and better, they’re nice and like using them. Have another account in TD Ameritrade which has a decent desktop interface.
My hope is that Schwab adopts TD’s interface before too long. Much more visually appealing.

I few weeks ago I bought my first bitcoin. I just bought a little but so far it's up 75%. Damn I wish I would have put in a ton.

To be clear, I bought Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (BTC) OTCQX US: GBTC
BTC was by far my best investment in 2020. I was up +240% for the year on my position. My target weight was 5% for portfolio, but I’m over weight now gonna have a hard decision to make on my next rebalance cyxle

83% of my networth (does not include house or non cash assets) is in 401k and ESOP, does that % seem high?
Think this is all very personal, like someone said as long as a lot of that is not ESOP then probably fine. I’m still in my 20s and I think my wealth is 60% ish in retirement accounts (401k, HSA, IRA), and the rest in a post-td brokerage account.

source on inflation rate being 16%?
How do you define inflation?

Anyone in on weed plays? I think new leadership decriminalizes it and could make things go.

I bought into $APHA a few months before they bought Sweetwater Brewing (added on the post buy dip) and they have also since merged with Tilray. Wasn't a big fan of the merger when it originally was announced ($TLRY IMO was a heaping pile of debt) but as I've looked into it further I think the idea with the merger is to expand $APHA global footprint without doing so "organically" (as $TLRY already has a decent presence in EU/UK iirc) - the price has risen in the last few weeks (last buy was $7.10 in December, between that and my $4.20 buy this CANNOT go tits up, right?!?) so I haven't added and I'm not sure if I'd "recommend" buying with the recent climb.

But if you're looking for a "large" operator with good management ($APHA management team will head the post-merger company) IMO there aren't many better options out there from a risk/reward perspective.

I didn't look into penny stocks/ micro-cap companies because I don't know enough about the details of the industry, but I've been happy since I originally scooped up $APHA last summer and think the future looks bright - my only reservation is the debt burden they've taken on with the $TLRY merger; but the management team turned $APHA cash-flow positive in short order and I think this will be one of the long-term winners when the smoke clears.

After visiting Plant 13 in Las Vegas back in 2019 and being impressed, I came home and bought some PLNHF. I didn't do much for awhile and then it doubled so I sold. Of course if I would have waited, it would have tripled.

Any thoughts on Alibaba as a buy? Seems poised to bounce back with news that Biden Admin will be more friendly to Chinese investment then Trump had been pushing for....still no signs of Ma though.

I own it. Bought on some promising news....then Ma vanishes and threats of delisting. Also was reading the company could be nationalized?

So I'm getting my ass kicked....but maybe it'll work out for you.

(Obviously not an opinion of a true financial consultant....sadly)

Anybody in on any of the ARK etfs? One of my RothIRA's is only them and TAN. My only regret is I wish I would of made the move sooner.
10% of my Roth is in ARKK. Also interested in getting into ARKG but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I’m in ARKK, ARKG, ARKQ, ARKW for part of one of my IRA’s. Those total about 25% of that account. I’ve been in ARKK since first of May (+105%). ARKG since June (+65%). ARKW and ARKQ since Thanksgiving (+44% and +25%). Been pretty pleased with those purchases.
