2021 schedule...

I'm just not sure why both have to be on the road and we have to face 2 teams off bye weeks where OU has zero.

I still have K-State PTSD, but I do agree about Tech. Give me a couple more years of nothing crazy w/ K-State and I'll be ok.
OU is getting the tOSU treatment. Gotta protect the big dogs. God forbid a non blue blood gets favoritism.

Does that include the playoff victories over Bama and Clemson?
I'm gonna say BAMA and tOSU. After all, the B1G will do ANYTHING to ensure their spot in the CFP

I get everyone's bad juju with UNI but we are built to absolutely piss stomp them this year. We are way too balanced of an offense to not hang a ton of points against purple Iowa. Defensively we will be fine. People need to get week one 2020 out of their minds, there is a lot to that story.

You must be new here... Early season woes have been a problem. This team took care of the late season woes last year. Would love for them to do the same for early season this fall

I LOVE this schedule.

1. Two in state rivals games at home.
2. Awesome road trip to NFL stadium in Vegas, hoping to make the 5.5 hour drive if it works out.
3. Texas, TCU and OK State at home, potential tough games we need to get.
4. The way our conference "championship" works out losing @Oklahoma late in the year.might be the best path to a title. Even if we lose to them on the road they have to turn around and beat us a few games later if we can make the title game.

Please, don't ever refer to UNI as a "rival". "In state" is fine. It's accurate. They aren't a rival.

I guess I'm stuck in the long gone era where UNI guaranteed a sellout of our smaller stadium ;-) Now it's just a date against an FCS program where there's a 100% chance of getting their A game.

Still, this has to be the year we stomp UNI and Iowa 2-0.

It's nuts that the only thing we haven't checked off the list is beating Iowa, B12 title game win, and CFP.
- Beat every Big 12 team multiple times, check
- Beat Oklahoma a few times, check
- Make Big 12 title game
- Make BCS bowl
- Win BCS bowl

I don't actually know much about what Iowa brings back yet, where I have a pretty good idea what Big 12 teams look like. It seemed like they could have been solid this year if they had a qb who could throw it, I know their schedule didn't really provide any opportunities to impress.

The whole early season woes thing is over played. Last year was a really weird and tough situation for Iowa State, they didn't even hardly practice. In 2019 we struggled to beat UNI so I'll give you that. In 2018 we didn't even get a home opener, and in 2017 we curb stomped UNI. This will honestly be the first year where we match up with Iowa in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Again, offensively we have way too much balance for UNI to be able to hang with us. Unless a bunch of weird stuff happens we will roll the panthers.

Iowa lost a lot of horses and just lost Kallenberger. Couple that with the o-line coach and RB coach jumping ship and it's starting to feel like the beginning of the end of the Ferentz era in Iowa City. Even my Iowa friends agree that the way too early top 15 rankings for Iowa are WAY too high. It's going to be an interesting off season for the Hawks, I can see some guys jumping ship.

I don't blame voters for just assuming they should be ranked around 15-25. They're one of the more consistent teams in that range for a long time. Incredible longevity for KF. He took over when I was a sophomore at ISU I believe and I'm a middle aged guy now.

Agreed. It is a rival game fan wise though. On these years, It’s always Two weeks in a row of dealing with hawk fans in JTS.

I still have 90s/early 00s memories where that was one of the more crowded and fun games. A lot of it just nice weather early in the year and we needed the extra 5-8k fans back then.

Pretty different now that we sell out for late season Big 12 games even with bad weather.
