The Olympic MBB knockout stage bracket is set. Not an easy road for Team USA and they must play their best in order to get to the final. I watched Spain vs Slovenia match in the early morning and that was an incredible one. Both teams treated their last group match as an elimination game. Luka Dončić almost got a triple-double while playing in foul trouble. He is still undefeated in his Slovenia national team career (16-0).

Team USA will play Spain in Quarter-Final Game 2 at 11:30PM, CT, Aug. 2.

Here's the online stream link.

What’s the best way to follow what is going on with the Olympics and do it easily and efficiently? I was out of town last week and didn’t follow much (only sports stuff I followed was our big 12 cluster****).

NBC page with schedule, results, and links to streams -- shows times in your time zone (no math required).

Here's my way of following the Olympics, for your reference. BTW I'm staying at home so it might not suit you completely.

First I check Team USA's whole day schedule

After I choose the sporting events I'd like to watch, I go to

You can find videos of pretty much every single event (live or replay) in there.

If I don't have time to watch the whole event, I check out the highlights here.

Is sharing a gold medal (high jump) something new?
Two golds, one bronze awarded.
Yes, it's rarely happened. Both athletes cleared the 2.37m in their first attempt and both missed the 2.39m in all their three attempts. When the official asked if they wanted a jump-off to settle the winner, both of them decided to forego it and share the gold. If I were them, I wouldn't want to risk losing the gold if the rule permits. Besides, it appears that those two are good friends.

Also, it's the first time in Olympic history that the champion of men's long jump is decided not by the best jump, but by the second-best jump.

I'll put in a spoiler tag in case some haven't seen the result of women's soccer earlier this morning.
Canada beat the USWNT, marking their first victory against the US since 2001 and ending a streak of 36 winless matches. The US will now play in the Bronze Medal match against Australia. Canada will face Sweden for gold.

Time for the wave of younger players to come along.

Time for the wave of younger players to come along.

While I know it’s not the case, it feels like Rapinoe has been on the team since the 1990s

This is a team whose core has gotten old and has seen so much success over the years that it just feels like the hunger isn’t there like it used to be (and Julie Foudy has made kinder versions of these statements - notably she hasn’t seen a US Women’s team play so passively before). It really is time for the next generation.

Glad to have her back competing again. Hopefully she is well enough to perform at a level close to what she had before the Olympics.

I'm surprised it's the beam and not the floor she's coming back for. Less height on the jumps for the beam make it easier for her?

Or maybe she didn't want to take someone's spot on the floor routine since the US is limited to 2 when on the beam there was only one other US qualifier.

Hope she kicks butt

Just watching US women lose to Canada in soccer. The penalty kick that Canada just got was a joke.
Canada player runs into the side of a USA player trying to clear a ball in the box and get's a PK.
Soccer continues to be a flop-fest.

Also the USA women are not nearly as good as they've been recently, but still got hosed imho.

The worst part is that it was confirmed
