Interesting choice for our tournament in Iowa City this weekend. Happy to see the program with another option though!

After sweeping TCU last weekend, ISU gets beat by KU at Lawrence on Friday, 3-1.

Notable score from Waco tonight as Tech beats Baylor 3-2 with 5th set going 18-16. Mizzou transfer, Kenna Sauer, from Ankeny led Tech in kills.

Mantz seems to be hitting a lot better in recent matches which really helps spread out the hitting threats vs defense. Newsome seems like the best setter we've had in 4-5 yrs.

Agree on Newsome. This is Year 5 for her so I question her eligibility for another COVID year at ISU. I am assuming Heideman is the successor next season if CJL doesn't use the portal again.

That was an impressive sweep yesterday at KU after Friday;s loss. CJL had been alternating Mantz and Anderson on the front row depending on who had the hot hand. With Hatch out, both were in the front row rotation yesterday and both did well.

Rhodes hasn't been playing at all so either her injury issues persist or Englebrecht has beat her out. at the 2nd MB.

Two big matches this week at Tech who appears to be much improved after splitting with BU at Waco this past weekend.

She was gang busters at 14-15 hence the early offer. I am very happy for her to be getting PT that she clearly deserves based on her recent performances. Keep it going!

12-13 service errors and still win is a bit of a miracle but we will take it- Mantz Huge again Saur kept them in it- See what happens tomorrow- go clones

Rhodes got some rotation vs Tech and did pretty well especially on defense. Hopefully the attack errors will come down as well as the service errors.

That was ISU's 2nd best match win of the season so far going by RPI. RPI came out earlier this week with ISU at 40, KU at 18 and TT at 31. TT had previously lost two matches to KU, both in five sets, and split with BU last week in Waco so they are much improved with the Sauer addition.

Both Sauer and Newsome were with Mizzou last season and weren't in their primary rotation. Both transfer out and now are all-conference type players while Mizzou is now 3-14 and winless in the SEC.

I thought for sure ISU was going to give that 5th set away last night. It was nice to see them show a little fight and get the win.

That's the kind of match that can change a season.

ISU loses 3-1 tonight to Tech. ISU had control of the 4th set but lost it at the end 25-22 when ISU got caught in an unfavorable rotation with Newsome on the back row and Herrera out. Tech had lost 3 of their prior 5 matches in five sets and like yesterday, I think ISU would have won the match had it gone to 5.

We better make a splash this year because no one knows what we are going to be like next season losing virtually everyone.
