MLB: ***2020 MLB Season Thread***

The base running blunder in the 5th? really cost the Braves. Runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs and you get both thrown out at third base on the same play.

Almost all of those small market teams could spend more money than they do. They're all owned by billionaires.

If the owners of the Rays chose to reinvest in their team they wouldn't play in a dump and they'd actually attract fans.

Too many of the owners just own the team so they can sit on the investment and get a ridiculously high return when they sell the team later.

Not in Florida.

Justin Turner tested positive for covid and was removed in the 7th inning. Very 2020 way to end the MLB season. Curious how he was even able to start the game, figured results would be in by the start of the game

I'd just bet it is a false positive. From what I read the Dodgers have been sequestered in a "bubble" since October 4. I'd have to imagine MLB has it very well regulated who comes in and out. And if he got it in that "bubble" I would have to imagine others would have tested positive by yesterday as well?

That plus the initial test being inconclusive just has me wondering on the accuracy. But who knows.

Could be a FP, but I wonder how many games Turner will be suspended next year for saying FU to MLB and their protocals.

Oh I agree. I'm sure the regardless of whether he truly had it or not the MLB will come down on him for not following the protocols, as they should.

I read that as of yesterday no one else on the Dodgers had contracted it. I haven't looked to see if that changed today. But I'd just be amazed if it wasn't a false positive if no one else on his team tests positive.
