Ryan Pace needs to be fired. There is a serious talent issue on offense. Montgomery, sorry, but he's too slow. He breaks tackles like a beast, but he dances around too much and can't outrun anybody. The line is garbage. The only good receivers are Kmet and Graham. They need a QB, RB, WR corps and a completely rebuilt offensive line. Nagy? Still on the fence. His offense is very predictable. Is it due to talent? Why the hell is Graham on the bench in the red zone????? Patterson and #86 need to see be on the bench, or cut. They suck. Go get a RB off the scrap heap for crying out loud!!! Somebody with more speed than Montgomery (change of pace). Why is offense always so hard for Chicago?

Oline is complete garbage this year. DM is juking in the backfield to miss defenders.
They’re still at 5-2, with a handful of trash teams on the schedule. They should still get to 10 wins and land a wildcard unless they get Foles killed first.

They way Foles has played, I wouldn't mind him going down with a minor injury so Trubisky can go back in, and they can just have him scramble for first downs. At this point, that is their best play on offense.

It's a tough team to watch. But that can be said about Bears football for most of my life.

...and I remember Bob Avellini at QB.

I was so happy when the Bears drafted Montgomery! I even have Montgomery jersey, but if the Bears don't do anything to improve there O-Line, and a better QB, he is never going to be able to show how good he can be in the NFL!

IMO, totally agree. DM can't run through a block wall! OL appears terrible.

I haven't seen many Bears games this year, but this always strikes me - this year and previous years. I was gratified to hear the announcers call this out on a 3rd and short play several games ago where instead of letting their running back do his job, they brought in a WR and gave him the ball. He proceeded to run lateral to the LOS and refused to turn it up field, instead trying to wait for a big hole for a big gain. Of course he was dropped for a loss and they punted. The comment from the commentary team was that he still runs like a WR - a RB would have turned it up into any one of those creases and gotten the yardage to move the chains.

It seems like Patterson is Nagy's project and he is bound and determined to prove himself right - that he can turn him into a RB - and is continually hurting his team in the process.
Yeah, I just don't get it. Patterson isn't even close to an RB. I've seen him run tons of plays handing him the ball and it RARELY works. Very aggravating. Give it to your RB and if you're not confident in that then throw the ball.

That particular play was extra stupid to me too. If you want somebody to bounce outside why not run like a jet sweep to your fastest WR? That play makes a lot more sense to me.

I feel bad for David Montgomery. He led the NCAA in broken tackles one season at ISU. It's a lot harder to break tackles in the NFL. The Bears' O-Line is taking years off his career.

I'm probably one of the few people alive who doesn't think Trubisky is a bad QB. Would I rather have Mahomes or Watson? Yes! Was trading up to get Trubisky at 2 an incredibly idiotic move? Yes! However, I still think Trubisky could grow to be a decent NFL starter (lets not forget he was a Pro Bowl QB in his first season). However, when your offensive line cant hold for even a second and you have some rather odd play calling, just about any QB is going to look bad. I think Trubisky gets way too much blame.

About 3-4 times a game you will see him get swarmed immediately upon getting the ball and get up with a look on his face like "you've got to be ******* kidding me."

I can't imagine what it would feel like to stand back there, knowing the ball is coming to you, and knowing that several 250+ pound men are about to pummel you the moment you touch the ball.

I think you need a couple more pluses there.

What I’ve always noticed about Trubisky, is he stares down where he’s throwing the ball right after the snap. If I’m a safety or linebacker in zone coverage, all you have to do is look at where he starts staring from the snap and start running that direction. He will not look for a second option unless he starts scrambling. Trubisky is terrible if he’s not scrambling. He can make plays when he’s on the move but he is horrible when throwing from the pocket.

Im also sick of hearing how much of a genius Matt Nagy is on the offensive side. He has one of the worst offensive minds I’ve ever seen. I’m also certain he’s Tom Manning’s idol. They are so similar on play calling it’s mind blowing. I’m not a big bears fan but watching them is so frustrating when their offense could be so much better.

Patterson is still living off that 109 yard kick return he had a million years ago with Minny. I've never seen anyone take so many kicks from deep in the end zone and not even get to the 15.

And not all of Chicago's WRs are terrible......I'd take Robinson in a heartbeat....

I think we are the only two people alive who remember Mike Phipps.

Phipps - Avellini - Evans. There's some Bears football for ya, kids.
Ah yes, if it hadn't been for Walter Payton those Bears teams would have never scored. Payton played with those QB's, and he had a bad offensive line. Everybody in the stadium knew who was getting the ball and he still would lead the league in rushing. That's how good Sweetness was. GOAT.

GOAT for sure. The Bear line wasn't good until 83. By then Payton had a lot of miles on him.
